Hi all,
I was lucky enough to be sent a copy of the forthcoming Osprey rule set for battles in North America in the mid to late 18th century, ranging from the French-Indian War through to the War of 1812.
There's a review on my blog here.....

Too many rulesets out there.... o_o
Nice write-up, I would also expect more chocolate, and less vanilla - after all, when you spend time painting up those British grenadiers, you'd like them to be... special in some way.
My 2 next projects after completing some armies for God of Battles will be SAGA: Crescent and Cross, then some Song of Drums and Shakos nappie skirmish, so let's see if I get drawn more into the 28mm horse-and-musket stuff...

Thanks for the review. I've been (slowly) painting up regiments for War of 1812 and looking for a suitable set of rules. I don't know if these are the right set but they're something to keep in mind.
Cheers.

Sounds interesting.
Nice review.

Nice review, it does seem a rather saturated market though as already said ;D

Thanks for the review as I have had an eye on these since they were announced.
The number of War of 1812 scenario's make this interesting as it is a future (very distant future) project!

Rules, a lot of them. I´m also looking for a good ruleset to play the War of 1812; perhaps this one is the Chosen one! :)

I may invest in a copy - I like eye candy.

I have these on my wish list so may get a kindle copy when they come out. I'm already put off by the tokens though. I hate clutter and would rather use casualty, rout, rally figures than plastic chits or decks of cards.
I'm also starting to wonder what I gain from playing with a different set for every period and sub period, when I think I can probably mod up some bits to a set of core mechanisms to add the flavour I need for a given period.
Good review though, that's the level of detail I need to find out - looking forward to reading your AAR.
