The Pointy Eared Ones & their Vertically Challenged Allies look TERRIFIC, but the Troll is a thing of WONDROUS BEAUTY. GREAT WORK all around!

Great stuff!
Your troll sort of looks like an American politician... lol

I love the prospector. So much character in the little chunk of lead. Just the old time minis, I think?

First of the Crossbow unit done. Only need five for Orcs Drift but I think the Yellow/Red uniforms will really stand out on the full unit of 14...

Also got all the base metalwork done on the rest needed for Orcs Drift...

Just been sorting out the first batch of figures for my Oldhammer Dwarf Army that will follow once Orcs Drift is done... The Imperial Warhost of the Dwarven general, Harold 'Harry' Bosch.
Harry, along with his two brothers - Thomas and Richard - led their army to take part in the Goblin Wars, seeing action at both Mad Dog Pass and the defence of Caraz-a-Carak to name but two of the many battles the army fought in, before its virtual destruction during the campaign of eradication between Blackfire Pass and Fire Mountain. A campaign of such brutality, that the Greenskins in a moment of rare lucidity, called it the 'War of Bones' as the valleys and mountain passes became littered with the corpses of Dwarves, Goblins and Orcs.
After the War of Bones, the survivors split into three small warbands, one under each Bosch brother heading to a different fallen Dwarven stronghold to try and reclaim it for their kin. Of Thomas and Richard, nothing more was heard, but of Harry... rumours tell of the fallen keep of Karak Azgal, his supposed destination, is once more belching black fire from its furnaces, but no-one has yet returned to tell tales of what is there. For now, the Black Keep holds its secrets...
I want some more units to add, but these are the first batch I want to get done. All the figures are metal classics from the golden days of Citadel and my youth!
So the first 'brigade' in the army has...
1 x Flame Cannon
1 x Bolt Thrower
14 x Crossbows with Priest
12 x Miners/Engineers
12 x Two-Handed Weapons, led by Harry Bosch
12 x Imperial Dwarfs with One-Handed Weapons
18 x Rangers

Nomnomnom :-*

Ignoring the Rules & Order of Battles talk, & moving along to the more-interesting-for-moi miniatures, you have some BEAUTIFULLY painted pieces; AND, with all those LOVELY Old Grumps yet to go, this should be a SPLENDID thread to follow. Keep up the FINE WORK & have FUN with it all!
-
Good to see the classic Bugman's Rangers in there. My orcs got their wee green hides spanked by them so often back in the day.
-
This is exactly up my Alley, love what you are doing with those Dawi, keep them coming! (although I would vote for more Dwarvish sounding names ;) )
-
Those dwarfs look great :) I look forward to seeing the rest.

Tom, Dick and Harry Bosch were my first RPG characters, three Dwarf brothers.
Its fantasy, so im pretty sure whatever name I want can be Dwarvish! :D

VERY NICELY DONE! I did that Little Knight in the very same colors when he was a relatively new mini. It's good to see the Old Guy painted up SO BEAUTIFULLY.
-
Brilliant paintjob on one of my all time favourite Dwarves.
:-* :-*

First two recruits for the unit of Imperial Dwarfs armed with hand weapons and shields, the unit will eventually be led by Tommi Bosch... So the last pic shows the front rank starting to build... Very slowly!

Looking forward to seeing the game played :)

The Old Dwarf in the steel beanie is a new one for moi. Both he & his compatriots are BEAUTIFULLY painted; where visible their expressive faces make the minis. VERY WELL DONE!
-
Cheers chaps.

Reinforcements arrived...

A wonderful poking force of classics you have growing here! I watch with eager anticipation to see where this project leads!
Cheers,

"PASTURES OF PLENTY!" That is a GLORIOUS gathering of Old Lead Lovelies you have amassed. I can see a FINE future of posts...& alliterations...here. HAVE FUN!
-
This may be the nostalgia talking but...
Dagnabbit Citadel used to make ruddy marvellous minis before GW screwed everything up with grimdark. >:(
That troll is one of my all time favourites. I still have mine from 1984 too, and recently stripped it and reused it in a 10mm army:
