Title: Greetings fair people ... from Australia
Post by: Knights Of Dice on October 10, 2014, 01:58:19 AM
G'day everyone, I hope you're all keeping well.

My name is Viv and I've been told by many people that I should register on the Lead Adventure forums ... so here I am.

I've been involved in miniature gaming for almost 20 years.  I currently have a small hobby business called Knights of Dice (http://www.knightsofdice.com) and for many years have ran a youtube channel called RubbishInRubbishOut (http://www.youtube.com/rubbishinrubbishout).

That small business I would like to grow into something larger, and eventually produce games made here in Australia.  Earlier this year, we purchased two figure ranges from an Australian sculptor, Ian KH ... some of you will know his work.  His Fiendish Fabrications range (parts of it) and Pulp28s were acquired in April.  I plan to continue adding new figures to the current sets available as well as re-works some of the sculpts.  Not being a sculptor I am always on the look out for people I can work with.

My YouTube channel is mostly about wargaming, terrain and such .. but from time to time videos about home brewing and other random things pop up.  It's been a big part of my hobby and I love it.  Recently I have renamed that channel to fit with my business, Knights of Dice ... though I am in 2 minds about changing it back and starting to use the actual Knights of Dice channel for 'business' related videos.

You can find us at

www.knightsofdice.com (http://www.knightsofdice.com)
www.facebook.com/knightsofdice (http://www.facebook.com/knightsofdice)
www.youtube.com/rubbishinrubbishout (http://www.youtube.com/rubbishinrubbishout) (also www.youtube.com/knightsofdice)
www.twitter.com/knightsofdice (http://www.twitter.com/knightsofdice)

I hope to share some of what we are working on at Knights of Dice, as well as terrain projects and tutorials.

I've lurked these forums on and off for many years and I look forward to getting to know people and contributing to this wonderful community.

Cheers
Viv

I really must make a point to check in here more often (weekly!).

Thanks to the posters above, I'm sure the journey ahead will be exciting and terrifying at the same time.  So far, learning the molding and casting processes have been fun, though I'm sure there are many things I still don't know or understand.

As for future plans for my 'hobby business' I'd certainly love to continue adding to the ranges of figures we acquired from Ian, but also to look towards producing games designed here in Australia - using local designers and sculpting talent.

Now that I've had a chance to 'play' with the miniatures we acquired (re-molding figures where the molds we received were not usable etc), I'm looking to have new figures added to some of the ranges - and as such am looking for sculptors to work with.

Thanks again, and I'm sure there will  be loads of cool stuff here for me to look at

Cheers
