Indeed. Here's one Dutchie that might want to go. ;-)
-
Well, it sounds interesting, and Utrecht isn't such a long drive from here. Hmmm...
-
As a weekend worker this isn't possible for me, but even then, €17,50 for a ticket, that's more expensive than Crisis and Salute.
That's gonna have to be a helluva show...

Jammer on not coming... :(
I think it includes lunch if I read correctly
Will you be at Crisis?
-
Unfortunately not.
sick leave ends 24/10 so the weekends thereafter it's back to working :?
Luckily I've got lots of friends attending so I can order stuff and have it picked up by someone.
There's also a tiny package I'm sending along to be picked up by Gunbird @The Red Barons table (They will be setting up a Battlegroup table) :)

Damn, duur dagje...vind het echt veel voor een entreeprijs.
But anyway, if you need help with organizing anything, like demoes or participating games, let me know! I can always bring along Pulp Alley with my Cairo end/or jungle tables.

We realise it's not cheap (although, relatively speaking...). It includes lunch, workshops and participation games, for a limited number of gamers. You'll want to come to learn, discuss and partake in your hobby.
It is very much NOT meant to be a 'shopping show' where we have lots of people through the door (who together help to lower the costs!).
Also: proposals for participation games are VERY welcome at the same address. We'll put together the final program in the next few weeks and will be looking for a good variety of games on offer.
-
As it's in my hometown I'm very tempted... :D
-
You can safely assume there will also be a small Belgian invasion in Utrecht.... :D
-
We'll prepare for the worst! :D
-
I'm thinking about running an Across the Dead Earth game for the event.
-
Proposals for participation games are very welcome at the register@poldercon.nl address!

Barry and I chatted via FB and he asked me if I'd be interested to run something, so I sent you guys an email about it tonight already :D
-
Looking forward to it!
-
@Too Bo Coo: can you tell us anything about what games and workshops you had in mind for Poldercon?

My plan, once I hear back from the organizers, is to run a 20mm Across the Dead Earth game. I thought to make up a small scenario for the day, maybe 3 or 4 participants max. Something that would be on a 'timer' with turns maybe so that I could do it more than once. Maybe run one in the morning and another in the afternoon. But again, the details of when and how long is up to the people who are organizing the event. I have no official connection with the organizers, I just passed along the info when I saw it posted on Facebook. :D

Good thing I'm back from Finland by that time. Count me in I guess.
Now that I have all the Dutch ears on here tuned in, for at least the next half year I have enough space available for a dutch LAF meetup in the historic town of Schoonhoven. If any of you were present at the last Modebrouwers dag its the same building.

I think CLAM is a perfect name for a European LAF Day! C(ontinential) LAF :D

@Too Bo Coo: right, I got my answer...sorta :D

If you have more 'event specific' questions I think Praefectusclassis is the right person to answer those. Cheers!

Thanks :) But I have sent an e-mail to their registration adress, and received some clarification concerning the program:
-They intend to fill about 15-17 gaming tables, and already have 14 by now.
-It's all about participation games, so no demonstration games.
-4 Workshops spread over the morning and afternoon, in a mirrored repetition.
-Limited retailers
The exact program about what games will be there and what the content of the workshops will be, can be expected about the end of this month.
Looking forward to know more :)
-
More information will be forthcoming soon! We're sticking heads together (physically, much superglue required) in about a week to hammer out the definitive program.
Dutch (/speaking/residing) LAF-ers are very welcome to join the Dutch Miniature Wargaming group on Facebook, which is very active and proof that this is less of a wargaming wasteland than it is often thought to be.

I haven't seen the full details yet, but it looks like this will be more than your average wargame gig, with all sorts of stuff ancillary stuff like painting workshops and similar. I've been invited to come over and talk about running successful participation games at shows. Presumably there'll be others like me covering other subjects.
I'm really looking forward to it. I was impressed by the extra curricular activities at Historicin when I went there, and I'm hoping this will be just as good. If nothing else, it'll be great to see friends from the Netherlands and Belgium and enjoy a beer with them.

It would be fantastic to meet you Rich. I'm a big fan of CoC and I'm trying to get my mates here in Amsterdam to give it a try. I know once they do they'll be hooked!

Let us know if you get this set up and I'll send you some promo Pulp Alley Fortune cards to give away. We just made a new one called "Fightin' Dirty" and it is lots of fun. ;)
-
Sign me up for playing a demo game of Pulp alley!
-
YPU, if you haven't yet, please register at register@poldercon.nl.
-
Did so today, I've been travelling a lot the past few days so didn't have a chance to do so earlier.
-
Excellent!

Too Bo Coo, it would be great to say hello. Please do seek me out. I believe that my old chum Dick Bax from Murphy's Heroes will be running a game of Chain of a Command there.
I'll be at Crisis in Antwerp next weekend as well if you fancy a jump across the border.
Cheers
Rich
