Title: Bolt Action Italians question
Post by: sunspear on 20 October 2014, 06:29:34 PM
I am plannig on ordering some really soon, a buddy ordered some BA a while back, he said the plastic troops came with bases but the metal ones didn't. Is this normal? Just curious cause if so i will need to order some.

My Germans, British and Americans are all BA metal and none of them had bases. I would assume the same with the Italians.

The metal BA models don't come with bases.

Ok, thanks. Can I ask, what do you use?

I've used 2mm thick MDF bases sourced from Sarissa and 4Ground depending on whichever I was ordering buildings from at the time.

However my newest Warlord metals (Waffen-SS) came with MDF bases. I guess they've started adding them now that they are working with Sarissa doing buildings etc.

I have the Italian parachutists - they are all metal and definitely do not come with bases. I use a 2p coin.

Coins are about the cheapest way to base stuff.  The newer coins have a high steel content if you use magnets.

I put troopers on 1p coins, NCOs on 2ps, and officers tend to get a 30mm or 40mm circular Warbases 2mm MDF base.
