I was recently asked by one of our forum members to sculpt a couple of eagles for his future project. Anpu asked to have two styles of eagle to put in the corners of his buildings. One gothic and the other art deco.....

Really nice work! I especially like the jutting-out one. Perfect for a Judges' Sector Station somewhere deep in Mega-City One too! :D
-
Very nice. I like the detail on both.
-
That's pretty cool

Or Gotham City.
Very good sculpts.

Excellent, especially the art deco version.

Looking great there Andy.
I can't wait till I get my hands on them.

Yup thats the one.
Hopefully I can make some good moulds to make more for the buildings.

Nice work, Andy.
I love the AD version.
:-* :-*
You had better make a good mould, as I can see a few WH40k fans being interested too.
;)
-
Nice work, could use it for my roof-superhero-idea

Great stuff Andy, especially the art deco eagle!!

They're both excellent but the art deco one :-*
I instantly thought Mega City One too!
-
Excellent work - very useful, I can't believe no one makes these commercially already :)
-
You've captured the Art Deco look perfectly there.

Cracking work mate 8) 8) 8)

Thanks guys!

I'm afraid these aren't going to be commercial either mate. I've just done these for Anpu.
If there was ever enough call for them I could make another and maybe get it cast.....
-
I think there could be. If this thread has shown anything, it's the multiplicity of uses they'd be put to.
-
I will be making a mould for my own use but will not produce any for sale. I don't have the means or time for massproduction even if I had Andy's express permission to do so. In my opinion what I gave for the sculpts is not enough to include productin rights anyway.
They look great and if Andy feels he wants to have them produced that would be great but I am not really in a position to do so.
-
I don't mind if you do a lot of copies of them mate......as long as I get a few to use in my Mega-city 1 project I'm trying to plan just now! ;) ;) Only if you do a lot of copies mind you!
-
Will do some copies for you. ;)
-
You're a star!!
Only if you're doing a lot mate! Don't go to any trouble!!

If you don't mind a bit of work with a knife, the head one does have something you can get a version of.
There's the marvel random soft plastic blind packaging line called "Fistful of Heroes" that came out a few years ago. There's a spider-man one where he's perched on one that looks just like it. Cut Spidey off and you've got a good one that you can probably cast up easily if you want to and they tend to be rather cheap the last time I looked...someone locally used a LOT of them she got off of eBay for a building she put together for the Batman minis game...
-
Brilliant work as ever, Andy.
I say it every time, but you've missed your vocation. You're an artist.
-
The eagles have landed!
Will try to make a mould now...
-
I'm glad to know the Swedish Bird Sanctuary accepted them! ;)
-
Lovely stuff!

Thanks guys!

Perosnally, I would buy at least a few of the Chrysler building eagle for a few 40K terrain pieces.

Moulds made and the first casts done...

Now for using them on houses.
Gotham, Megacity 1, or both that is the question.
Hmm the pictures seem deformed rather than cropped, well photobucket usually catches up after a while, otherwise new pics later...
***Now the pics look fine.

Well done to both of you! 8)

Love that corner piece. I just don't know if I could build a building big enough to house it.
