I just got an email from BlackTree today advising of their Labour Day Sale . I was wondering if anyone has had any contact with them lately .
I have been waiting for an order since June 30th so sent them an email to see if there was a problem about two weeks ago . I also sent them an email yesterday to see if I could get an update . I have not had an answer from either email .
I dont want to get the order refunded as I really want the figures and have had very good service from them in the past , but 50 pounds is 50 pounds :'(
I would'nt have brought this up just yet but felt a bit snippy when I got the sale email today . :-[

This thread
http://frothersunite.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=15185
Has been running for months on Frothers, and is quite scathing about BTD and their business practices in the usual Frothers manner (i.e. not safe for work, small children or the elderly).
A lot of people seem to be in the same boat regarding delayed orders and no communication. I think Trading Standards may even have been mentioned at one point.
Someone did recently get an emailed apology and offer of some kind of compenstaion (free stuff?) but I'm not sure there has actually been any resolution as such.
I too would be mightily annoyed by the notification of the sale if I had been waiting for an order as long as you. They seem to be all over the place at the moment.
-
Sir Bob just beat me to it. I think it it has been established on this forum to that BTD's customer service a-sucks.
-
Black Tree are a strange lot, they've never failed to deliver to me, but they do have such long delays, long enough to worry you.
Also they seem to be a bit rubbish at answering e-mail, in the end I got in touch with them on the phone.
-
Thats a real shame as they have been very responsive in the past to emails . I think I will give it to the end of the week then I will contact VISA .
I've waited two months for orders from other businesses in the UK this year but they have been in constant contact and advised me of any problems.
Thanks for the link.
-
Ooh dont go there, I have always had good service form them including 3 recent orders this year then in June I ordered some Orcesses and they didnt have 2 codes in stock, now 4 e-mails later and they still owe 6 figures...they seem to be doing this a lot lately
-
They'll be robbing banks before you know it... ;) lol

I wouldnt hedge your bets ;)

The same thing I pass with Dixon minis >:(
-
I'm still waiting on miniatures I ordered maybe 5 months ago. So far they've ignored my e-mails. They were talkative enough back when I first made the order, but that was before I paid for the stuff. Go figure.
-
I have had problems with every order; but every order has been sorted out - eventually. As each order has been placed during a sale, I'm not too unhappy.
-
I think they have a problem with their e-mail address getting lots of spam so don't bother checking it. Use the contact form on the website and mark it for the attention of Vaughan Edwards, he's never let me down.
-
Looks like I spoke too soon ::) I returned the sale email with a question about my order before going to bed . Checked email about 10am and got the following .
This is an automatically generated response to your message. Unfortunately we are being inundated with spam email which is making our normal email address unusable. Because of this we ask that you use the 'contact us' form on our websites to send us emails.
You can find the contact forms at: blah blah etc.
So I did what they asked and sent a form .
When I got home after work I found 30% of the order in my mail box with a voucher for 25% off my next order . I actually got the things I least need right now and have only 2 Dalexs . Looks like I'm in for a longer wait . It was only posted about 8 days ago. :-[

See! Complaining here at this forum helps!
-
I'm not finding any contact forms on the BTD website. Link please.

How weird, that seems to be another website than the one I normally get to. What's the difference between http://www.black-tree-design.com/ and http://www.blacktreedesign.com/ ?
-
I think Blacktree moved to the US . They relaunched the new Website some time ago . I think I either saw it on TMP or maybe they sent me an email , not sure now. :?
-
Be aware that answers to the contact form come as e-mails which won't be read if replied to. You seem to have to use the contact form all the time.

Still South West based as far as I can see with the address and phone number. Probably changed web presence provider and the old site's still active.

I did hear something about Black Tree setting up an office in the US a few months ago, but I think that was in addition to their UK office, not in place of it.
It strikes me as weird that both the websites seem to be up to date, as far as I can tell. One could almost think they WANT to confuse their customers >:(

OK, so far as I know.
They have NOT moved to the US - but they are setting up a US operation.
http://www.blacktreedesign.com is the NEW Website and a little while ago I received an email inviting me to register for which I received a £5.00 money-off-next-order voucher. Which prompted me to place another order.
So, if you normally go to the "old" website try registering on the New. Even if you don't get the money-off anymore, you will receive the Newsletter. (Well, I do.)

Well whaddayaknow, that contact form seemed to do the trick. Got a quick reply and a promise that the miniatures are being sent.
-
Thank you, my work here is done. :D

Your lucky , I still have not had any reply to mine.
-
Me neither, still awaiting a pack of gladiators from over two months ago. No response to emails what ever way I send them.. :-[
-
Today is the three month anniversary of me placing an order with Black Tree . I marked the occasion by sending them another contact form asking where my stuff is . :-[
Thinking about sending them a form every day but can't really be bothered .
Anyone else recieved anything recently?
-
I appreciate it may not be possible, given that you are in NZ, but when I had a substantial delay with them, the only way I could get anything resolved was to phone them. Might be a bit prohibitive price-wise, I suppose. :(
I would go with the contact form thing, same one, every day, just keep hitting "resend" until they answer.
-
I kept hitting them with an email virtually everyday asking for an update. Eventually I had a reply saying the missing pack should be sent this week. We'll see.... :-I
-
I have gien up, only 6 minis but cant be bothered any more
-
I got a reply today :o
"My apologies for the long delay with your backorder. I will have your miniatures off to you right away."
So in less than two weeks I should have my order . Yeah right , I'm not going to hold my breath.
-
Maybe we should start a running thread. The LAF Black List... >:D

Maybe we should start a running thread. The LAF Black List... >:D
Maybe in the spirit of Lead Adventure positivity, it should be a white list, a list of known good suppliers.
I do worry about sending money off to random folks on the internet, so find places like the Latest Miniature Received list very handy for finding out who are honest traders.

I should make clear that I was only making a rather unspired joke. I think rants like this thread should suffice to warn people.

Its really a shame that I have been pissed about on this last order as I have had very good service about the five previous times I have ordered from Blacktree . I certainly will be keeping an ear open to hear if things have improved as I really want some more Dr Who figures and would have kept buying their WW2 and Ancient Celts . I just have lost confidence in them . :(
-
Well I got a few more packets of stuff from BlackTree today with a note saying the rest would be coming soon .
I hardly looked at the three packets and just put them away in a box as I was so pissed off with this whole experience .
I still have not got the Dalek set which was the reason for the original order . >:(
We need a picture of Captain Kirk shouting BlackTree , kinda like the Foundry one that I saw on this forum somewhere .
