Just a quick question, I am eagerly awaiting the Italian army book in the mail, my buddy is playing Brits and he can use the shermans out of the armored fury set, I am wondering, with Italians, could I use the German tanks? If so we were gonna split the cost of the set.

No.
The Panthers were never supplied to the Italian Army, never... never... they did not even hinted that. We received Panzer III and IV, some Stug IIIG (in 1943, to rebuild one armoured division after Tunisia, after the Armistice and the defense of rome, where that division did not even took part refusing orders... the tanks were re-acquired by the German Army and used for to replace losses for german divisions in Italy, the bulk goung to the 16th Panzer Division).
Remember in 1943 the Panther was new, unproven, unreliable, just coming out in numbers, you do not give them to allies before filling your own requirements.
This is the harsh reality... it is a box conceived for late war northwest Europe (and crappy at that, the vanilla M4 was then a rarity). for your italian needs you need M13/40 available both from Warlord and Blitzkrieg/Perry (ah you also need an M41 75mm semovente... trust me, you need it if your friend has Shermans! lol)
