Title: MUTIE!
Post by: mcfonz on 05 November 2014, 08:49:21 PM
So not having sculpted more than the odd hand or foot here and there I pushed myself to finish a miniature I started yonks ago - a mutie. The parts beneath the sculpting are:
- a bare Catachan torso which had the bandolier style pouch belt thing removed.
- catachan walking legs.
- Catachan right arm carrying lasgun
- left over Orlock ganger pistol hand from later re-booted and fugly versions.
- head and tentacle arm from old(?) plastic chaos mutation sprue.

My main focus was the back and shoulders - the catachan torso is quite flat and owing to the fact that the chaos arm and head were a lot bigger, needed to be built up so I used it as a sort of practice piece, to get the feel for sculpting a larger area and an area of muscles / anatomy. For a first shot I'm quite happy with it, although I do recognise that the basis was more than a good help for that. From scratch would be something else altogether!

And painted today:

Not yet completed but mostly done.
