I recently finished up a squad of Retained Knights from Alternative Armies. You may remember that I did half this squad as an entry for the last LPL.
I will be using these for Rogue Trader 40k games and other Sci-Fi gaming and I'm really happy with how these Old Olley sculpts have help up and still hang onto some of that RT feel.
Attached are a picture of the entire squad...More detailed pics of the Retained Knights can be found on my blog: http://bluesmarauders.blogspot.com/2014/11/retained-knightscompleted-not-space.html

...as well as a shot of the squad on BullDog Lopez's excellent RT table during the Oldhammer in the New World event.

...and while I was at it I got a picture of the Muster troops (also from Alternative Armies) on the same table because it was just that cool!

Cool models and a nice color scheme!

Old school as anything, and nice pj! :)

That is the nicest I've ever seen those sculpts look! Excellent work, now I have to get some myself ;)
-
Marvellous. I've still got a ton of these lying around, but cannot decide on a paint scheme to use. But your choice of removing the cast-on bases looks really good - those were, IMHO, always the weak spot in an otherwise solid range.

Most excellent 8) 8) 8)
The table looks grand as well :)

Love those old minis! And your colours are nicely subdued, but smooth and rich. Ace!

Fantastic stuff!

Superb :)

Very nice work. Oddly enough, I've started using the Dreamforge Eisenkern troopers as "Not" Retained and Muster for my Firefight games.

Great models and paintjob!
I like how you put them on GW style bases. I chose to put mine on the lipped bases, since I thought they would be too large for the GW bases and too large for the Rogue Trader miniatures in comparison.

They fit the bases fairly well...some of the knights have a fairly wide stance and their toes hang off the edges...but that doesn't bother me at all.
Thanks for the kind words all! now I just need to get a game in with these guys!

They definitely have the Rogue Trader look. Makes me wonder what they would look like painted up as old-school Crimson Fists. Just sayin... ::)

Excellent work!

Wow, you make them shine! :-*

Needs morw skullz! ;)
Lovely subtle colours there. Nice.

thanks All! Next step is to take this group up to platoon strength (3 squads) and add a Deadnought and maybe a Robot from the old RT Citadel catalog. As I'm planning on playing fairly small "boarding action" type games with my Sci-Fi figures I will take my time to achieve these goals.....because I need to paint up their opponents as well!
