After watching Zulu for the zillionanth time, decided to paint a few Empress gems. A few years ago I sold all my zulu war figures, so now is the time to stock up before eyes go.
I've started off with the historical Roarkes Drift bunch. Hopefully in the next few months I will get a lot more British+ Zulus done.
The photos were taken on my iPad, hope to get a new version with updated camera soon.
Anyway hope you like them. P.S I won't be selling these. THE CID.

Crisp, clear brushwork. Well done.

Lovely. I really should get back to my zulu stuff.

Thanks for the nice comments. Working on colonel Durnford and some Natal police at the moment. THE CID.

Are the dismounted police separate head? i've had the weird urge to get my hands on the mournful fellow in the cap as part of an idea for an empire of the dead gang of ex-policemen.

No,they are all fixed heads. Empress do a few heads, but I think they all have the British service helmet. THE CID.

Lovely figures, well painted.

Durnford and Natal police as promised. THE CID.

Nicely done on all! :) I love the Bedford Cord(?) trousers on Durnford and that other. I'm just starting Anglo-Zulu myself, these minis of yours are inspiring.

Lovely inspiration for my own Zulu Wars project. You can never have enough defenders for Rorke's Drift - historical or fictional.
