Hi Everyone!
That's a few stuff i've done for ClearHorizon Miniatures, and some more is going to arrive in the future.
The containers are just 3d printed and cast by me, but the final one will be cast from a pro, of course. The mold i've done so far is far from the perfection, but it's perfect for my personal use.

What's nice from the design (it's mine and ...well, kinda original even though you can find similar stuff in a lot of places) is that you can stack the pieces and they fit quite nicely. That's nice for gaming purposes, nothing is sliding around. :)

I also did the first test for a set of barricades. I'll do a lot more, but this was meant to test the limits i can push in adding details in this scale:

I managed to cast this successifully (only a few minor bubbles) and here's a group photo, with four containers in the background. I tried several ways to make them cheaper, now i put some styrene in the body, but there's also a plaster one, that i'm now priming and painting as a test.

Comments, questions and critics are welcome, as always. :)
Cheers,
Jack

Although 15mm isn't a scale I collect, I have to say that those look fantastic! 8)

I started a while ago with 15mm. That's much easier to prepare a good table, and also to convince friends to play!
Meanwhile... i've painted the barricade, with a quick paint + wash + dry pigments.

and here's a scale comparison with some 15mm troops from ClearHorizon Miniatures. :)

Lovely stuff.

Thanks!
a bit more done... actually, a bit "less": the clean Jersey walls are ready for molding. I love barricades, but sometimes the vanilla pieces are more suitable! :)

Excellent :o You're a talented chap managing that sort of detail and character in 15mm! Great-looking facade!

I loved it!

Top quality stuff!! 8) 8) 8) 8)

Geez, those all look fantastic! 15mm is the scale for you!

Thanks everyone! =)
Here's a facade closeup:

well, for scenery 15mm is pretty nice, you can basically do the same things you do on 28mm using almost one tenth of the material, and painting them is much quicker too!
of course the models aren't the same as 28mm but.... i can afford to have and paint more, which is pretty useful for skirmishes! ^^
-
Some very nice looking kit there.
-
Just a quick update, before the oil session that will inevitably spoil the whole set... but i've to learn someway! ^^

Love that hotel frontage! :o

Can we get stuff off you instead of going all the way to the usa for it..??

Hi Marcos!
Actually the repro rights of the jersey walls will be sold to Clear Horizon shortly, so i'm afraid you'll have to go through them. You can ask them to find an european distributor maybe, and if enough people will ask mayybe they will be convinced :D
For the facade, i still am evaluating some offers, but i won't take a decision before i'll make more experiments with the two other facades that are going to be done in the next weeks! ^_^
Thanks to everyone!

Frigging brilliant!! :-* :-*
Just when I thought I could resist the current temptation to 'sample' the 15mm waters. lol

just jump in it! on the bright side, if you're playing skirmish it involves very little time and money! ^_^

Meanwhile, here's an update: I've done the oils and the pigments, now i'll have to proceed with the brush detailing around, and maybe a bit more weathering too.

Aaaand! Here's an update, a BRIGHT one!
I managed to grab some uv-sensible fluorescent paints with different colours, and the result is brilliant!

That looks cracking!! :o :o Can you actually see enough by dark light though to play games?

I'm not really sure about that... The idea is however to add some dark light leds around, that are quite powerful when close to the neon bulb. In this case, it was actually just for show. :D
-
Haha, oh man that's still so cool though.
-
It looks absolutly amazing! I can't wait to see more of your scenery.
-
Actually, I'm quite taken with ideas for the first 'cases' for use in 28mm or better. Even your 'jersey walls' could be used as smaller barriers.
I think Clear Horizon has a winner!
Anything in your deal that would make sub/re/co-licensing your work a problem? I know several cross-briny companies that have been able to work something out.
I don't know how some UK companies keep their shippage to the colonies so low, but I'm not complaining! To the rest, I know your pain.
Just when I think I can't admire Jack any more... lol
Doug
PS Try the dayglo painted items outside on an overcast day; sometimes, the UV gets through sufficiently to be noticeable. Not that I'm suggesting gaming in the rain... ;)
-
Hahah, thanks guys you're making me blushing!
Doug, i've done some 28mm jersey walls and barriers for Resina Planet too, they're pretty similar =)
http://www.resinaplanet.com/euphoria/escenografia
For the co-licensing part, i'm talking with Harold right now, but his shippings to the old continent are usually very reasonable in price. :)
soon i'll have another couple of facades to show, manwhile... i'm painting 6 containers and a lot of shanti buildings.
I don't know if to necrothread the old thread: http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=60892.30
But i'll probably just re-post a couple of the old pics in this new one =)
-
Hi everyone! Some updates with the two new facades! Everything together is shown here:
24 different doors, 30 windows variants, a few shutters and stuff. :)
cheers,
Jack

Hello Everyone!
I apologize in advance for this kind of a "cross-posting", but i feel that this update should be in both the threads.
I've painted some of the containers shown in page 1, here is a group pic:
(http://www.thelazyforger.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/P3236655.jpg) (http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=60892)
For the rest, i will only continue in the other thread, posting there any update on both the projects: http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=60892
Cheers,
Jack

That kit looks great !

Oh man, very, very good job (and the fluorescent paint idea is very, very, cool)!
