Busily working away on the Kickstarter stuff in the lab and I thought I should try and get a few pictures up so you don't all forget about me. Battle reports take quite a while to write so this is the easiest solution available at present. I present you with my 'Strange Aeons Stuff'! I will try and get a picture up at least once a week...sometimes Uncle Mikes 'official' stuff and sometimes stuff from other companies.
Let us begin. My assorted Threshold models.

Awesome idea UM, having followed your battle reports over the years I'm quite interested in getting a look at your SA collection. And also great for those of us in need of a post KS fix (I went in Co13 myself and plan on getting one of everything even though I have some already.) My only question is who's the chap on the extreme right? And thanks for sharing!
-
He is a Foundry figure...from their 'Street Violence' line, I think. Very big and imposing figure. I use him as a Brute and quite often as my Character as well. I've got a few more from that line half started. Some great Agent models in there.
-
Very nicely painted figs you have there. I still really like that Lovecraft miniature! Can't wait to see more.
-
Lovely paintwork on a great looking team of figures.
:-* :-*
You are right: We really SHOULD see more of your stuff.
:D

Yes, I think the model is from Foundry's "Not-Sin City" set and he is supposed to be Not-Marv.
-
hehehe the one in the middle reminds me of the new doctor who :D
-
Oooh! Did you finally get Two-Guns Girl to cast right?
Please tell me you got her to cast right!
-
Sadly no. This is one of the few that worked out...mind you there was still a small air bubble in her elbow, which I had to fill. No idea why she was/is such a pain.
Also, thanks all for your interest/comments. :)
-
Innocent Bystanders and Tortured Agents. The kids and Agents are UMW figures and everyone else is from Pulp Figures by the hyper-talented Bob Murch.

More wonderful brushwork.
Gorgeous!
:-*
-
Strange Aeons wouldn't be the same without the big baddies. The Shoggoth was made available through our recent Kickstarter. It is huge and was a lot of fun to paint...also, it is pretty good at eating those pesky Agents. Presented here for your consideration...

Nice paintjob, Mike.
:-* :-*
I have never been a fan of the 'look' of Shoggoths, but this one could change my mind.

-
I think I said this on the Kickstarter too, excellent model and paint job,
I will be paying it the best compliment I can:- stealing it for my own shoggoth
when the KS arrives.
Nice figures all round Mike
Regards
Jim

Looks like that little kid is pretty screwed o_o

A little kid balling it's eyes out?
:o
I pity the Shoggoth!
:'(
-
Wow, fantastic stuff! Can't wait to see more of this awesomeness.
-
A bunch of stuff in a big group photo...all painted for my nefarious Serpent Worshipers cult...all usable individually in Strange Aeons. I should take some close ups at some point. Anyway...

-
Sweet!
-
I've always dug that serpent priest conversion. Simple but really effective looking!
-
Thanks. For a bit more info on the models: The back row consists of various cultists (all now OOP...) a couple Serpent People and the Demagogue, All are UMW figures, although as Obsidian just said the boss has been converted...
The middle row has my Serpentman Warriors and a couple Degenerates. These guys are all Reaper figures, old metal ones. Pretty sure you can get the Warriors in 'Bones' fairly inexpensively.
And down in front are the foul Tcho-Tcho...s...how do you pluralize Tcho-Tcho anyway. :-I All Games Workshop figures from the Hobbit box set.
So. Now you know.
-
That is one sweet looking Cult, Mike.
I love the blue and orange.
Very striking.
:-* :-* :-*
-
Mike, that’s a quite fine bunch of quirky minis. Would love to see more, so close ups would be appreciated. I have considered to start off with the Serpent cult for our project on the other thread but had to give up the idea due to lack of serpent men in my collection.
-
Another delightful set of miniatures UM, I recall admiring these when they appeared in your VUK battle reports (looking forward to getting those rules as I joined the CotBG in the KS.) Question though, I liked the rendition of the SA design for the Tcho Tcho (I believe it was in the first edition rule book) and I think maybe on an old thread it was intimated that UMWW might be doing their own Tcho Tcho models, is there still any plans to go forward with those? Would dearly like to see those enter the model line. And, as always, thanks for sharing.
-
I really love the use of colors on that Serpent Worshippers Cult!
-
Very nice work as usual UM!
Nice to see that great minds think alike,( or we've both been affected by the same pyschosis) I've also been using the GW hobbit goblins as
mutant/degenerate types.
Regards
Jim
-
I have no use for the Hobbit game...but that box has some great scenery pieces and a ton of goblins. The sculpts are quite excellent and they paint up a treat!
-
Been busy with the holiday joy and all that. But now back to darker things! Some close ups:
Slithis the overlord and personal retinue of serpentpriests.
Some cultists and a cult leader to help with a bit of shooting.
Serpentmen Warriors ready to kill!
More to come...Hissssss!
-
What are those serpentmen warriors from? They're sweet models. (I guess the paint work is "ok" too...) :P
-
They are both Reaper figures...not sure what they are called. These are metal but I think that at least one of them is available in Bones...should make for some quick conversions.
-
Jeez I didn't even recognize them. I have those figures in the Bones plastics. I had sort of passed them over amongst the box of stuff, but that paint work really makes them look good. I might have to go dig them out now and add them to my snakemen bits.
-
And a couple more...
Degenerates!
And Tcho-Tcho(s)
-
Like them, good ideas for the degenerates!
-
i must get my hands on a few of the lotr goblins to make myself some tchotchos
-
Those Degenerates are cracking.

I did have some.
Let me have a look before you go buying any.
;)
-
Looking great as usual...nice idea for Cho-Cho's.
-
Here are more Tcho-Tcho(s) for when they need some shooting weapons. Tengu models make these and they are great little models. Affectionately known as "The Beanheads" around the gaming table...

Being busy with the 2nd edition kickstarter work affords me little free hobby time...however, I received my Mars Attacks stuff just before Christmas and couldn't resist a quick paint up of these giant bugs. Wonderfully fun to paint and can be used for a bunch of stuff in Strange Aeons.

Lovely work on the bugs and tcho tcho mike!

Here are a couple of really old figures that were used for the original playtesting of Strange Aeons...ah, the memories. Those horrible, horrible memories...
Godling (Star Wars...Nobby Spider or something like that...)
Did a small amount of conversion on the base/puke/dissolving horse.
In the new rules this would make a good God-Spawn. In first ed. it was used as a Winged Nightmare. I had painted it up for Gangs Of Mega-City One as some sort of horror for my Transdime to summon.
Not sure who makes/made it. I've had it in the lead pile for ages. Grenadier?
I've got several more old school figures and am quite enjoying going through the collection and blowing the dust off...expect to see more of this old stuff.
-
Awesome stuff, Mike, and a nice use of the Star Wars figure. The little Cthulhu is Grenadier, indeed. Spawn of Cthulhu. It’s a lovely miniature with a great expression.
-
Thanks Prof. I was pretty sure it was...any idea who the sculptor was? Anyone? It really is a subtle figure, love the weird bumpy chicken skin especially. So many of these oldies have a certain charm but this guy stands the test of time as an absolutely rock solid sculpt. 8)

I think it was John Dennett.
-

Yaaay glad to see some one played as the Transdime...I wrote that article :D
-
Nice one! I was super excited about it at the time. Good bit of rules writing!
-
I alway loved those Tengu Tcho-Tchos, a bit sad that Tengu stopped selling stuff.
Love the colorful bugs and the old stuff looks great as well...really fitting use for the Star Wars toy/ model.
-
sorry, UMW?

And still more old stuff from the display case...
Not sure what this figure is...Dreamblade or D and D. Either way, he was going to be used for a Moon Beast or Possibly a Daemonic Hound. Fun little painting project.
My quick and easy Shambler, a Hero Clix Man Thing with a few GW Wood Elf bits thrown on for good measure. I love me some Man Thing... :o

Great repurposing on those two, they do fit the bill well.
Nice colouring too.

D&D cerebrilith... psionic monster...
-
This Cerebrilith is a cracking monster figure. So many uses are possible.
-
Hey Ajsalium thanks for that identification! :)
-
And another oldie from my collection. This guy is an old Chainmail figure...again, my D and D silly monster names aren't up to sniff I'm afraid. I'm better at my mythos silly names. Regardless, this was the first figure used to playtest the Formless Thing but would make a passable Servitor, Blasphemous Construct or even Shambler in a pinch.
Love the big mouth on this fella. I had a good time with the purple tongue as I don't often paint stuff purple.

I think it's originally a new-otyugh
Nice work

Jim

Better than the old-otyugh... :-I

So many Otyughs...so little time... ;)

Absolutely think those are the best cultists I've ever seen! :o
