Title: Pulp Tractor
Post by: Mad Lord Snapcase on 04 December 2014, 12:58:52 PM
Having seen Mick A's lovely bit of scenery:

In A Forgotten Corner Of A Field... (http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=73231.0)

I went on to eBay to have a look at these Universal Hobbies 1/43 tractors. I bought this one and I'm quite pleased with it. Might have to get some more!  :P Probably rather useful for VBCW as well.

Rather spiffin' chum!!

Quite the splendid lookin' crawler ain't it just?

But do it RUN? Tis, after all, a Fiat...

As an ex-aficionado I've a wealth of Fiat stories jokes slurs anecdotes, I'll share two 'printable' ones

Fix It Again, Tony

Flamin' Italian Attempt at Transportation

Still get a pang every time I spot a Spider, just too few running & not rusted completely away.

I hadda lotta fun in those lil' cars, but cheerfully embraced the luxury, & reliability, of  a '72 MGB instead...

Ha, I rather think I was probably bidding against you! Didn't want to spend much on it.

I found a slightly different one from the same series, but quite similar, that I think I will get instead as I like it even better.

I like that these sorts of things can serve as either farm implement, construction tool (with a simple bulldozer blade fabricated to fit), or artillery tractor.

Spooky! I'd also bought this one but it hasn't arrived yet. Great minds think alike!  ;)

You certainly did inspire me, I think I might get the tractor that you have as well, three will be enough for me (probably!).  ;)

Plenty of Pulpy examples around.

How about a crawler wheelbarrow? Very steampunk!

Here are the three I bought together:

L to R: Fiat, Cletrac, Bubba.

The Cletrac is a bit smaller than I expected but I like all three.

The greatest tractor of all time.

The mighty Massey-Ferguson of Edmond Hillary and Vivian Fuchs in the BANZARE Trans-Antarctic Expedition (1956-1958)

Oh very nice. That Cletrac is perfect... still waiting for mine to arrive.

It does look nice doesn't it. Have you got a specific plan in mind for yours?

Speak of the devil, it came in the mail today. Hurrah!

As for uses, it's a versatile thing - farms, construction sites, artillery towing, tank recovery, etc. - so I expect it will pop up here or there as scenic dressing.

I do like that steam tractor. That has a lot of potential. Definitely needs to be driven by a mad inventor!
