Title: corvus
Post by: swordman on 06 December 2014, 10:24:33 AM
hi,
Is there someone who has any experience with Corvus, wargame rules for naval warfare? I have some questions about it and it’s difficult to find the right place/person to ash them.

I've played them a few times. A nice simple set of rules. The only thing we found a bit unclear was whether shooting is mutual or whether you make a roll for each shooter. As I recall most of the other parts of the rules were clear.

a smal ship as a Trireme and smaller cannot shoot anly in defence. it's not clear to me when they can shoot.

They don't shoot at all.
During the shooting phase, both ships roll a dice and add their shooting factor.
Bad things happen if one side scores 4 more than the other.
Ships which don't shoot use their factor in this phase - but they cannot harm the enemy even if they roll higher.

As I understand it, only the side who isn't moving shoots. Both sides roll dice and add their shooting factor but only the non-moving side can score hits, the moving side only rolls in defence.
