I've uploaded more pics of my fantasy Norse army project, including two mammoths:

I'm quite happy with the way these are turning out, even though they're far below the average painting standard on this forum. ;)

Blue skin? Oh, they're Scottish... ;)
I think you've done quite well with these. No need to be ashamed of anything.

lol
The blue skin is because they all have the blood of the Frost Giants in them. I just wanted an angle to make them look different from everybody else's... :)

I love the blue skin. I had assumed they had the blood of Smurfs or Hindu gods in them. Thanks for putting us straight.
I actually do have a Hindu goddess to paint, and that is the kind of skin colour I'll be aiming for.

i have to admit i RARELY laugh out loud at things i read on a computer but when i read

Fantastic eork, excellent choice of models and good conversions. I like th epaint scheme too, ,makes them look really cold! Please put up a picture of the whole army!

When it's done. lol
There's loads that still needs to be done. Will take some more pictures of what's ready.

Well, if it helps, it's Vallejo Luftwaffe Blue, with white mixed in.

Yeah, it does look good. Hm - reminds me of Drow of course, but never mind :D

Definately very good painting.
Nothing to be ashamed of there. :D

I like them. I think we all get stuck on "flesh is flesh" sometimes and the break to a blue skin for this army from the north (it is fantasy as you said) is a great idea.

I really like this project. 8)
Very original and well executed! The blue skin colour is a great idea.
You've even found a good use for the 6 inch thick Foundry viking shields lol

Yes, I try to avoid using them on actual figures wherever possible. lol
The Old Glory shields are quite good though, lovely detail and thinnest I've seen.

Well, its basic colour theory isnt it? Warm colour and cold colours. Here you can see a demonstraion of how colour theory actually works!

Cool stuff....

Those are absolutely excellent. I saw the blue skin and immediately thought of blámenn. Then I thought:
"Mum, mum, are you sure I'm a Viking?"
"Yes, dear, you are most definitely a Viking. Why do you ask?"
"Because I'm freezing."
Your poor Vikings need some furry undies to warm them up. ;)
I'll get me coat ...

For some reason I would never have thought of putting Norsemen on mammoths. Looking at this army though it seems like the obvious choice, it all fits together so well. Top notch.

It's been a while since I last painted something for these again. Might do so tomorrow if I have time. :)
