Title: A truck and shipping containers for 28mm
Post by: Sbloom141 on 18 December 2014, 10:17:14 PM
Hi all, apologies if this isn't the right place for this topic but thought I'd share this beauty as it's really going to be useful in my zombie games. I bought this from 'the Entertainer', which is a chain of UK toy shops, for a cool £10. Which isn't cheap in toy car terms but this thing comes with two plastic shipping containers that are just about right for 28mm. The truck isn't bad too ( though the trailer itself seems a bit large to me). As an added bonus the container doors open too!

With resin containers costing at least £10 I thought this was a great buy. The truck is all hard plastic so shouldn't be too hard to weather, same goes for the containers.

Shown with a couple of Wargames Factory survivors for scale.

Anyway after some searching I found that this is available on their online store but it's grouped with a standard truck and a petrol tanker and there doesn't seem to be a way to select which kind. I saw the others in the flesh and whilst they do scale ok, they don't beat the usefulness of the container version. Link below, but worth a shop visit.

Good find.

I have the Aldi truck:

Looks to be the same design, box art said "1:56 scale". Got mine for AU$7, but I too would pay extra for two shipping containers.

Thanks for the heads up will. Have to see if I can grab me one after Christmas when there are pennies back in the piggy bank.

Great find. The shorter size containers are hard to find in toys.  Most often it's the long size trailers that you find here in the USA. I found a great aprox 1/48 International semi and trailer at a resale shop recently ($2!!), but I've yet to find containers like you've got.

Aldi Arsch der Welt (Australia) is currently selling two sets of vehicles that may be useful to some.

Firstly some 1/40ish luxury wind up cars. They're AU$4 each. I got a 1/44ish Hummer H3 that'll I'll dirty up for Afghanistan. Looks good next to Eureka 28mm on slotta bases.

There's also a range of trucks based on the above Aldi truck design - so closer to 1/56.

I can't seem to find pictures of either online though :?

Found a picture of the cars:

Apologies for the thread derail. If I could find the trucks then it'll tie in with the first post, as I believe they're the same manufacturer.

If you can't get it at Aldi now just wait a few months and they'll have them on the shelves again.
