Title: Little Big 15/18 mm Wild West (28.12.2014)
Post by: pahvivalmiste on 19 December 2014, 01:18:50 PM
Hello!

I recently started a Wild West project (RPG-related, maybe some skirmish games later). I chose 15/18 mm scale as I've not worked with it before and wanted to experiment with something new. Blue Moon manufacturing seemed to have a good and relatively cheap range and I went with them - the other option for me would have been Peter Pig. I also ordered some QRF models, but they're really small compared to BM.

Here are the first three figures completed:

Very nicely painted!  I use my 28mm for both Deadlands and skirmishes.

Hello Pahvivalmiste,

I really liked what you have done with the colours, nicely painted job well done mate,
and just a heads up in case you haven't figured it out yet, don't bother
with Peter Pig wild west stuff as they are really small in comparison,
they are true fifteens where as blue moon are more like eighteens,
hope that helps,

PS if you want to see what I have done with some of the Bluemoon cowboys go here:

Thanks for the comments :)

Great colour choices. I particularly like the fella in green.

I've planned to use distinguishing colours as the models are rather small. Not necessarily the most realistic way, but there's technicolour legacy and all that. I had an Irish leprechaun in mind with the green guy :P

Thanks for the tip about Peter Pig - I really liked their characters packs but opted for Blue Moon in the end.

I looked at some of the stuff behind the link, that was inspirational. It's really nice work. I've had trouble finding pictures of painted Blue Moon so this helped a lot. Thanks!

Looks really great. I want to do some of these figs myself but I doubt they will be as good.

Thanks for the compliments :)

Here's the next one:

It feels like I can get things done, but these are so small that they don't require that much time.

I think I'll start painting the figures or at least some colours in groups from now on. Saves both paint and time.

I cannot believe that you are painting so much detail into such small figures.
Brave, sir!
