I've finally bit the bullet and have gotten a few packs of this range for you guys to check them out unpainted.
Turns out they are nicer than the site makes them look, the only downside is that they have given the japanese the smallest arisakas i have ever seen as the comparison pic shows compared to a warlord games plastic t38 arisaka In an ideal world i'd swap them but warlord games in their infinite wisdom barely gives you any on a sprue.

Dismounted cavalry with carbines? :)
Ridiculous weapon size aside, those are surprisingly decent, albeit a bit stiff with some awkward poses. A lot better than I was expecting from Reiver.

Just pretend they are all dismounted Japanese cavalry or engineers using the Arisaka Carbine:

much nicer than most Reiver figures

I liked them when I saw them previewed at a show early in the year and I still like them enough to pick some up at some point. Thanks for the pics.

I think I will have to paint them as engineers rather than dismounted cavalry due to the cavalry having different ammo pouches than regular infantry and what I assume engineers would have, It is a shame about the rifles as the rest of the figures are pretty decent. Also reiver castings are pretty good to deal with as one of the japanese was broken in the post and they are sending me a replacement.
