Title: Help guys? Large/Big Targets shooting at?
Post by: MalcyBogaten on 20 December 2014, 04:30:00 PM
Hi Guys

We had a very good game of IHMN last night. A question that came up during the game was? If you have a quite notably larger target to shoot at should it be easier to hit?

We obviously thought Yes! But implementing it is the question?

What size classes/classification?

If the target is in a melee but so big you could actually hit it fairly easily other than your own minis in the same fight?

Those types of thing. Are there going to be rules for this? Are there already? Where are they?

Any help would be greatfully received! I have a couple of ideas but want a consensus and Craig's input would be great!

Thanks in advance.

When people tell me that the monster is much taller as their comrades in arms and thus they should be able to shoot him without endangering them I always raise an eyebrow.

Assumptions:
1. The monster is standing to attention and not bending over to slice and dice those pesky pygmies (your comrades).
2. Your comrades are also standing still and not jumping up and down or waving their arms/weapons in the air.
3. You are cool as a cucumber and a dead shot.

If all the above is true then you can take the shot without fear of being called a backshooter. If it isn't then you cannot.

Another classic example is shooting a mounted cavalryman and the same logic applies.
