It's that time of year again gents, so it's almost time to boast about the new minis added to the lead pile.
I'm posting this a day early because I'm sure a few of you have probably brought presents for yourself or had to not so subtly point loved ones in the right direction, so you've got a good idea what's gonna be on the painting table come boxing day.
-
I've got two 40mm Sash & Saber ECW mounted command figures as an early Christmas present... I'm very happy as I rarely receive any "wargame related" present at all... :D
-
Probably nothing this time round, but I did get a load of plastic wineglasses from the staff party, which are all shades of useful, and which will feature in the scavenging thread :D
-
That I know of, a brace of half price Tabletop Workshop buildings from North Star's recent sale, a Tabletop Workshop tower, the Chain of Command rules, a few Modelmates weathering liquids, and probably some socks.

Just that. :D Looking forward to see my flockbox. (for the second time)
-
I believe I have a few gaming pieces coming my way, but not from the daughter who ordered online, paid, and then got an email stating it's on back-order ... a dirty trick if ever there was one...
-
I buy my own stuff, all year round. Don't do the whole X-mas thing.
Very convenient :D
Received 2 sprues with Romans from Warlord Games and 2 Brother-Vinni minis lately.
All in the spirit of Fallout ;D
-
I received (from myself) Song of Blades & Heroes and Osprey's Fistful of Kung Fu. Looks like this will be fun.
Everybody have a good holiday!

I made a list of all the little tools I've never got around to buying so I got:
Chopper Mk2
Hot knife
Hexagonal dice rolling tray.
It's my birthday on Sunday so that list will probably grow :)
-
I always tell my wife to buy me miniatures and she always doesn't. Except this year when she bought every single thing I had written down. Haha! :o

So cool, what are you going to do to make it fly?
Green stuff wings and paint it. lol
Enjoy it. Merry Christmas.
-
My wife got me a Blood Bowl High Elf team, which I've wanted for ages - can't wait to get it painted! My son's four and a half, though, so really the Christmas is all about him, and he's having a great day. Can't ask for more than that.

Now I'm jealous I didn't buy myself all that stuff ;D
When my grandmother moved to a nursing home I got her pietjesbak (hex dice rolling tray) that saw extensive usage in her café. Too extensive as it almost fell apart, so I threw it away.
I still have the Original set of dice that came with it. They're severely damaged, but I can't throw those away. Gotta keep something from that period, as I practicaly grew up in that café.

My man :) flys already!
-
Completely flabbergasted... Santa does exist! It's like my 16 year old Christmas wish-list has been filled to overflowing. :-* :-* :-* I feel like a giddy kid! lol
FIVE box sets of classic Grenadier minis including two of the Cthulhu Creatures sets and a horde of adventurers, gangsters and police. On top of that, a selection of the big-boys; star-spawn, mi-go, serpent men, shoggoths, Nyarlathotep and numerous monsters.
Akuyaku #1, the early release w/ 3 figures. :D
Some Ma.K. goodies.
Lots of good DVD stuff.
An Olympus E-420 and a couple of lenses.
-
Nice haul! Look forward to the Ma.ks! What lenses did you get?
-
No wargames figs or books but some lovely gifts (a book on my other passions, my Alfa Romeao 916 Spider and tickets for Seasick Steve!).
However I did receive some cash from my folks to convert into lead which I as about to do as soon as I finish typing this! :D
-
No presents yet as we usually do that on New Year's Eve, but a good friend surprised me with a magnificent Roman Pugio.
I 'know' the new Irish Footsore miniatures are on their way along with some Late Roman reinforcements, and the Mrs. is definitely up to something. She has been 'conspiring' with her best friend Mary for weeks now and I heard she has been asking 'innocent' questions about tablets and so forth.
-

The 25 and a 14-42 zoom. I think they were standard with the set, but not sure.
-
Nice :)
-
I bought myself this little lot from lobo.
(The buildings, not the figures).
That should keep me busy for a while.
:D
-
Artizan cowboys and Brigade Napoleonics. And even better: Visa cards from people I don't like explaining things too. lol
-
Bought myself the new Mansion from Tabletop World. An outrageous extravagance, since I'm broke at the mo', but frankly no-one else was gonna get it for me (and rightly so!). Woo hoo!

-
Ok, I snapped this afternoon and bought a platoon of the AB Miniatures 20mm WWII Brits for Chain of Command and Battlegroup... ;D
-
Got the new dm's guide from my brother in law, and I'm probably going to use some of my Christmas cash to buy sculpting materials, as I have a couple of kickstarters in mind...... ;)
-
A YT-2400 for X-Wing from chairface. Most excellent!!
-
I put a stop to wargaming stuff to try and get down my lead and plastic mountain but I did get the complete 10 volume set of Kris Wheatleys Legacy of the Rorkes Drift Heroes .
-
No minis, but the (Unofficial) Vikings Handbook and History Channels Vikings season 1 and 2 on blu-ray, to help me prep for the big 2015 project. :)
-
No figures though I will probably buy a few myself shortly with my gift-cards. :)
Received four Battleground War of the Roses books I pointed my wife at and a wine preserver set. I'm not sure about this concept of multiple servings from a single bottle though. ::)
-
I got some Offensive miniatures riot cops and rioters from my mother and from my domestic goddess and son various Leven miniatures 6mm buildings.

I got the Fightin 15s/Eureka guillotine set and bystanders - this will keep me busy for about a decade! I also got the private contractors from Fighting 15s /Eureka and the Danger 5 set from Crooked Dice. Furthermore, among many other things a pair of cherry red Doc Marten's of which I am immensely proud! :D

Given I've ordered 6 of them, yeah, it's nice :)

Only two hobby related gifts at the Rawnsley Redoubt, both from Dave.
One direct - A rather splendid Matchbox truck, replete with appropriate Russian newspaper for my Back of Beyond Soviets, it is currently being weathered to reflect its hard life in the wilds of Rhanzlistan, I will post a pic of it on the BoB board when it is complete.

One indirect - A copy of An Officers Manual of the Western Front 1914-18, I think Dave is trying to tell me something here.
-
No minis/models, but one family member apparently took a trawl through my amazon wishlist (not gift wishlist, just my "instead of bookmarking stuff" wishlist) and got me almost all the airbrush-related bits and bobs. New air hoses, new regulator, a check valve, a muffler/filter for my compressor, a can of paint gun cleaner, plastic test tubes for spare needle storage, a plastic hard-shell case for the brush itself, and a wee tube of pneumatic lube.
-
Great hauls, fellas! I went on an ebay-spree in November and picked up a healthy selection of OOP rackham/confrontation miniatures - almost completed my collection of the orcs! Otherwise I got some other fun non-hobby stuff. I might use some of my Christmas cash for some of the tabletop world buildings.
One awesome thing my son got, which I find quite applicable, was this great book uniforms of soldiers throughout the ages. It is very well laid out, informative, and entertaining. It's pretty much at the right level for me as well, so we can learn together. It's written by Kate Davies and published by Usborne. I highly recommend it for all of you wargaming historians out there! Click for Link (http://www.usborne.com/catalogue/book/1~SD~SBSD~6657/sticker-dressing-knights-and-soldiers.aspx)
I was looking at their catalogue, and they have some other interesting titles I may have to peruse as well. ;)
-
Got some MDF scenery from Sally Forth. Got to say, it looks a lot better in person than it does in their photographs.
I went shopping after Christmas and managed to find the Dungeons and Dragons Collector's Series Drow War Party marked down from £40 to £10, and the Umber Hulk and Qesnef, Orgre Mage each marked down from £25 to £10 :D
Also got some money, so no doubt that will be heading towards figures :)

These arrived just yesterday! Truly some of the nicest minis I have ever seen, regardless of scale. :-* :-*
