Title: Cowboys in Buckskin Shirts?
Post by: NickNascati on 27 December 2014, 11:55:15 PM
All,
It may not be realistic, but in several classic Westerns, there are cowboys wearing buckskin shirts. Examples are Monty Clift in "Red River", Dean Martin in "Rio Bravo", Kevin Costner in "Silverado", and John Wayne in a couple films. Are there any figures out there (30mm+) dressed in such attire? Specifically, I'm looking for something like John Wayne here -   http://blog.modernmechanix.com/mags/Cosmopolitan/11-1954/john_wayne/john_wayne_7.jpg

Here's one from my collection by Old Glory that's pretty close. I painted on the 'beadwork' strips. Those are not on the original mini. It's in their warpaint line.

Looks like the closest answer is the Boot Hill Miniatures, although they are a little before the "cowboy" period, they should fit in just fine.

There is one cowboy in buckskins in the Reaper Miniatures line 50021 Buffalo Bill Cody

I have Buffalo Bill, he serves as a scout for my Galloping Major cavalry.  He does not have the right look anyway. What I am after is a gun wearing a tight, buckskin shirt, not a jacket as shown in the photo of John Wayne.
