dear oh lord why can I not just stick at one period  o_o

Anyway, if you are looking to add a CV3 Tankette, or two to your CTV or nationalist SCW forces
here is a short, and somewhat vicious review of the Empress and Perry versions

Now that would be just boring, wouldn't it?

A very fair review there.

I'd say it was a very fair review and the thing to point out is that the miniatures while sold by the Perry's are not by them, so no blame can be attributed to them, he merely points out those expecting Perry quality will not get it for the fact that they were done by Blitzkrieg miniatures.

As far as I know they were not done by Blitzkrieg but the masters come from by NT and are cast by the Perrys.

My mistake, most of the miniatures are made by blitzkrieg but the aforementioned Italian tank is not, although it would seem going on to blitzkriegs site that they are embracing the use of digital designing so...perhaps one to avid ? i've noticed that the 'lines' problem is quite common in digitally designed/printed vehicles.

Good review. Cheap resin printers are a pain. I recently bought a couple of resin printed models that ae only fit for wreck markers, too much sanding to make it pay off.

Of course for Italian tankettes there are options available that are still quality goods and still cheaper than the Empress version. For nine quid you could always buy the Company B version. Eighteen quid gets a pair. The Warlord one looks alright as well and that's only twelve quid. No idea how they scale up.

I can sort of understand the smaller size to better go with Perry figures, which tend to be on the elfin side of the spectrum...

...but why on earth the printed master wasn't cleaned before moulding?

Maybe there was a miscommunication, like the sculptor thought the mouldmaker was responsible for cleanup and the mouldmaker thought that was the way it was supposed to be?

In any case, QA failure at some point.

While I have not built this tankette, my experience with the Perry figures and models is that they are lovely sculpts, but atrociously cast. Every once in a while I fall for it again and usually regret it. My last purchase was a 40mm Border Reiver whose lance broke at the first touch and whose face I had to carve out from beneath a few millimeters of flash. And then I take the zillion mold lines and casting "worms" for granted as something to expect.

The guy who cuts the moulds for the Perrys has always made a terrible job of it. I don't know how he has survived so long in the industry.
