So I just finished up the bulk of my Tau - I decided to go with a more military and weathered look rather than the Manga style.

I like the aesthetic you picked, it's not the typical look as you say. Very nice.
-
I like that - less Macross and more Battletech.

So tonight I cast my first pieces from Hirst Arts in Resin... It completely sucked... there were bubbles everywhere and not a thing was even... But, I wanted to do something with it so later I could look back and say "ahhh, that's when I was clueless" :D Truth be told, I'm really looking forward to getting into the casting thing... I've been working on my terrain the past few months and I can see a lot of potential... besides it's like the big boy version of legos...
So I decided to spice up a base with the most acceptable of the pieces and carry on from there...

Also, I stole a really good to put the vehicle on a radio antenna from here:

And extended...

Finally, here's a one of 7 fireteams I did for the army...

Of course we're not using 40K Rules, we're using our own set here...

So the Tau are going to be broken into fire teams with one heavy weapon and a grenade launcher equivalent (ie, the piece on top of the carbines = grenade launcher and the rail gun will be the heavy weapon)

Very nice - both the scheme and the bases 8) 8) 8)

I love the look you've given them, TBH this is the first time I've looked at the models and thought "BADASS", the usual tan always looked bland to me. Those models look awesome too, which I never noticed before I saw your paint job!
I might well have use for them in an alt-verse cyclons project!
-
Hey, all muted, camo'd and weathered, they look like army men. :D
Very nice work.
It reminds me of the box of unpainted metal Tau I found during my new year's cleaning. *must. paint. faster*
-
Nice . subtle but badass.
-
Very nice painting. I like the olive drab/military look, too.
-
Nice work!
-
I've never been a fan of those Tau battlesuits... but how much better they look with a realistic paintjob! And that, I've found, it's also true of many 40K models. Top job with these.
Care to share which paints and colours you used?
-
Great paint!
Well done.

Great stuff :-*
-
Bloody nice. Shame it's not suporting future war human forces rather than Tau.
-
Excellent stuff. :) The camo colours go really well.

Here's the latest... a tau sniper. For the dry brush work in the other model's I'm using Iraqi Sand from Vallejo... Otherwise, it's mostly "reflective green" and the metal bits are vallejo's grey black with a drybrushing of GW's Necron Compound (which I really dig)

Yes, A fresh approach to Tau. I like the grizzled affect. I thought "badass" too when I saw the first pic.
-
Nice work :)

Lovely work and gives the TAU a healthy dose of street cred!
