So, got a few of these yesterday and got them cleaned up and based. Also converted the sentry figure into a standard bearer and did head swaps to add in an officer and medic for the command section. I don't have time to paint them myself so I've passed them over to a local painter to try him out. Looking forward to getting them back, must be patient :D

Guess what I want to say lol

Well, I saw the title and poster and thought "bloody hell, he has never painted something AND posted it!!" and low and behold... ;D lol

It's a wip thread! I'm busy painting Martians (in the few minutes a week I can get away from children), so these have to be sent out. Besides, I hate painting, if I could afford it I wouldn't do any at all.
Also, new toys! They have to be shown.
Guess what I want to say lol
I understand your position, you're just wrong ;)
-
Okay, I'm a dunderhead, but from whence, and what scale? ???
Doug
-
28mm, a future range from North Star (not the conversions obviously). Not on website etc but available if you email directly. Should be able to zoom in on the pic pretty well if you click it.
-
*blush* Just figured out the expand-o-pic.
They are handsome.
Doug
Edit: And don't let them needle you; I almost never post any piccies, knowing the abuse to come. You're a brave lad. :D
-
Very nice little force , look forward to seeing them painted up. :)

Calm down nipper, we is only pulling ya leg(s) :D
If I could afford it I wouldn't paint for other people to raise the money to buy my toys. Or should that be my extra toys?
I look forward to seeing them progress, have you gone the dusty khaki or full on red route? I expected to be seeing some of these with helmet badges and spikes added by you know who as they are very nice figures. Twenty five of them is going to be very nice indeed.

If painting figures is paying for your guitar purchases then you is doing well my friend ;)
I've gone the red route, I did consider Khaki but I still want to do NWF at some point so will hold off on that. Not entirely sure what to do with them next though. I was trying to convince Nick Eyre to get artillery crew and cavalry done earlier today. He's up for the idea, just need to actually get him to commission some...
Oh and for the interested, they're sculpted by Mark Simms, which surprised me a bit as they're bigger than his usual fare and if I'm honest nicer. I like Mark Simm's stuff and own a lot of his dark ages sculpts but these are a bit more 'exciting' in my opinion. The officer figures are by Mike Owen, I've just head swapped for the trooper heads so they match in.
-
They're all going to die. ;)
Can't wait to how they turn out. ;D

Standard from Mr Flag Dude?

Standard from Mr Flag Dude?
Indeed, not one of his best if I'm honest, a bit pixelated, but still looks good.

Update to the force. Got the figures back Friday evening and managed to wrangle a couple of hours today to finish off the details and bases. Royal Navy Stallion Steam Striders attached for heavy reconnaissance.
I'll try and get some better pics tomorrow in daylight (assuming it stops raining.)
-
They turned out great! Are they posted up in North Star yet for purchase?
-
Ooo look at them all lined up ready to die lol
Love the walkers in the background 8)
Who did the painting in such a fast turn around? I know Nick could've done with whoever a services in the past...

The one week turn around was a bit of a favour but Rob is pretty fast anyway. As are the rest of their team.

Not on the website that I can see, but they are available on request. Details here:

really good, who makes the walkers?
-
The walkers are Royal Navy "Stallion Steam Strider" Heavy Reconnaissance Walkers. Initially developed for deployment in the swamps of Venus, they are now seeing wider use throughout the Empire. While lacking the heavy armour of a steam tank, the Stallion's armour is perfectly capable of repelling native weapons and regular arms fire. This lower armour is more than offset by it's ability to handle irregular terrain and perhaps most importantly, make the Stallion light enough to be carried via Aeronef. This allows Naval Landing Parties to rapidly deploy with armoured support.
GZG/Eureka minis Steam Charger tank with the tracks left off. The legs are from GW Sentinals with the front pair reversed. Very easy conversions but definitely one of my favourites.
-
Me likey very much! :D
Bravo Sir! If I was starting afresh I'd go for these chaps. Lovely job on the armour as well.
-
The whole force looks lovely, but those walkers are the nuts.
Simple but VERY effective.
Like it!
:-* :-*
P.S. Do you reckon your mate Rob will gets those wrecked Japanese 'Nef markers painted up before the weekend?

A fine fighting force indeed.

And some opposition :)

Nice Martians, the red and white colour scheme looks good. I'm not familiar with my Martian tribes, do they represent any particular group?
-
The Kraal Ak Kaa clan, close allies of the Raas Ak Naa.

They're all going to die lol

Hiding behind those high walls until the Japanese were massacred and the Navy had mopped up most of the Martian resistence... ;)

Perhaps he might consider moving from the safety of the city onto the Martian plains at Salute. Then we will see how confident he is ;)

May I direct your attention to the thread on VSF Anti-Aircraft?
With an assist from the Prussians, the navy might be MADE to 'come down and play'. :D
Doug
Edit: Oh, wait, the Russians. Always about trying to throw blame on the noble German... lol

Not to mention the new Naval uniform of brown trousers after those rather 'risky' manoeuvres that the 'Admiral' ordered.
;)

Seems the other game in the room managed a photo packed AAR of epic wargames porn proportions (see here: http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=75023.0 (http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=75023.0))
Any danger of any pics of the action appearing on this board any time soon as I didn't manage to take any photos (too bust re-explaining the rules to Bibbly :))
-
Will do one tonight as they are uploaded and ready to go :)
cheers

If anyone wants to write one, feel free to use my pics too. Not having my laptop makes it hard.
