Just in time for a Joyeaux Noel, Rattrap presents "At the Ball," a free scenario for Gloire! A gentleman needs more than a strong arm to carry the day. Sometimes light feet and a quick wit mean more than sinew and steel. This scenario pits players against each other, as they attempt to woo their dance partners into revealing vital information. Perform a piroutte and win Milady's heart. Snub your opponent publically, and watch him turn crimson with disgrace. But above all, remember not to run into anyone else on the dance floor!
At the Ball shows that a game of Gloire can involve more than combat. This free scenario can be used as a middle chapter in a campaign, or a diversion from the usual mayhem of war. After all, this is the season where gentlemen and ladies wish one another 'Peace on Earth.'
This scenario is being made available to members of the Gloire Yahoo group (http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/gloire/) as a way of saying thanks for the support and enthusiasm. If you're not a member, join now, and beat the crowds for when this becomes publicly available!

Hi Grimm,
You can play it! It works better as a middle chapter in a campaign than as a stand-alone game, though.
Everyone has been asking about miniatures! Right now there are few figures you could use. Jim Stuht on the Yahoo group came up with pictures that can be used as flats for the dancers. Someone else said he saw appropriate figures...
...made out of glass...
...for sale in Vienna.
So it'll be paper flats for a little while.
