Years ago I took part in an excellent 1862 Valley campaign run at the Exiles Club in London; sadly I do not have the umpire’s notes so am looking around for an off the shelf campaign system for this famous campaign.
It’s a simple, robust campaign framework I’m after that is fairly historical, is easy to play and run and has period flavour.
I could just write the whole thing myself I suppose but past experience tells me life may well derail this.
Or I could translate a campaign rules from another period.
All recommendations and thoughts of campaign rules that fit the above brief gratefully accepted.
Whilst on the hunt I came across these from KenTrotman books:
JOHN DREWIENKIEWICZ & ADAM POOLE WARGAMING IN HISTORY VOLUME 10: THE SHENANDOAH VALLEY 1862: JACKSON'S VALLEY CAMPAIGN, KERNSTOWN, McDOWELL, FIRST WINCHESTER, CROSS KEYS AND PORT REPUBLIC.
£35.00
and
JOHN DREWENKIEWICZ & ADAM POOLE WARGAMING IN HISTORY VOLUME 10: THE SHENANDOAH VALLEY - ADDITIONAL DATA.
£10.00
Which I think contains ‘ Detail for the Campaign Kriegspiel’ according to some bumf I read.
Anyone got these? If so any chance of a view on them?

Bought the books, waiting for the second one (supplement) to arrive.
The first one is OK, not entirely convinced it's worth £35.00 but hey.
Some interesting ideas in it and some useful ORBAT info.
Not something you could pick up and run a campaign from.
So....using the map from the Exiles campaign I have done some research and written the campaign rules after all.
Campaign to start at the club in the next month...

Just got the supplement
Now, you could run a campaign off this
Day by day weather, force movements etc
ORBATS seem to be a repeat of what is in the main book
