Title: News from Artizan
Post by: joroas on 14 September 2008, 08:48:42 PM
This news from Mike:

Quote
Hello Everybody!
For those of you that were worried that the aliens had kidnapped me
and had me and I was being forced to work for 'intellects vast and cool
and unsympathetic' can be rest assured that I am safe and still here on
Earth.
I have actually been busy selling my house and trying to find
somewhere else to live in a very short space of time! Its all sorted out
now (I hope) and normal service should resume within the next couple of
weeks.
There are a few bits nearly ready to release now, and we will start
getting pictures up on the group shortly. These will include some more
Cowboys (theres a photo of a painted one done by Andrew Taylor on Steve
Deans website that looks good). There are 2 new Packs of KKBB figures
out as well and for WW2 more US Airborne and some Lehr. I have roped
Steve Saleh in to help me on a few more codes of the Romano Brits and
these will be popping up through the early autumn. The First 4-5packs of
the Joint Arab Revolt range that I have been working on with Brigade
should be appearing soon to. These will be pretty useful for pulp too.
I will try and keep you all informed of how things are coming along
but from Wednesday I wont have Internet access at home (where I do most
of my rambling here from) and this being the UK can get no definite date
as to when I will be connected in the new place.

Regards.

Mike

If this is the Arab Revolt of Lawrence, then this is what I've been ranting on about the last couple of years...  ;D

My kids won't have christmas gifts this year, I'm affraid.... (I'm also WAY behind with the Thrilling Adventures range....)  ::)

Any chance of pictures that aren't locked up behind yet another password wall?

(I hate Yahoo groups for exactly this reason. Why make it harder for random potential customers to see stuff, really?)

The Arab Revolt pictures are not posted yet. We should have pictures in the next day or so in both of our yahoo groups.

I just took a look at the Yahoo-site.

Yippiiieeehh!!!

With my 10 Brigade Games WWI arabs, these, and the various Arab characters in the Thrilling Tales range, I now just need some on horseback and camels!!  ;D

I'm a happy bunny!!!

Try Blaze Away Mini's arabs, couple guys on horseback with rifles.

or just click on the apropos thumbnail

I have seen these in the flesh and they are very good sculpts.

I know those, but they are the North African type, not the bedouin type. I want bedouins. Lawrence of Arabia, The Sheikh, etc....

Pics are up on the Artizan Yahoo Group. I haven't checked Brigade yet. Can't wait to get my hands on these.

For those (like me) who aren't members of the Artizan group, there are now some pics on TGN:

I agree about the Blazeaway minis. They are very nice, but don't really shout out Arab Army but rather say North Africa to me, too. Their headdresses look like the kind that the Mahdi wore.

Mind you, they were a diverse-looking bunch, those Arab Revolt types. In some photos of Sharifian Irregulars there are chaps in all kinds of get-up and headgear (and some with no headdress, but flowing locks like Darkest Africa Baluchis), and some of them look for all the world like black Africans too.

Yup, but for Pulp I want the classic Hollywood-look  :D

There's already a pack of them in Brigade Games' WWI range too, also sculpted by Mike Owen, which should be a perfect match for them.
