Title: New to Forum and Pulp Games
Post by: gamer Mac on September 15, 2008, 07:58:59 PM
Great site guys. It has inspired me to try pulp games. I got a copy of .45 adventures at a local games shop and played a game using some WWII figs I have. Now I'm hooked. Bought some Artizan figures at the Claymore show in Edinburgh. Below is a picture of the first proper game I ran with the guys from my DnD group.

Hope this works I am not sure I am doing it right.
I am intending to do a Turkish Bazaar for my second setting. Anybody know where to get civilians that may suit.

I opened an account on photobucket.com, uploaded the pics (size about 640Xsomething) and then posted the direct link here with the toolbar. Don't know how the others do it (posting pics, I mean...).

For a Turkish bazar I would pick up some West Wind Gypsies, Artizan and Brigade Games Fezed gentlemen in suits and perhaps, depending of the era, a command pack from BG with WWI Turkish officer. Since you definitely need some kaftans and fezes in the pictures I, for civilians, would probably use indian or arabian miniatures (Eureka, Foundry) but do head swaps for fezed heads. There really should be no or few turbans, just takkes (you know, 'kippas'), fezes and Stetsons, oh, en veiled or scarved women but no bourkhas.

Thanks for the advice.
I have got a photobucket account now and will try and post some pics tonight.
About becoming a supporting adventurer. I have never been involved in a forum before what is a suitable donation?

Had a look at Brigade games, looks good I may be ordering something from there in the future. I have recently received 40+ figures from Pulp Figures so I had better wait a wee while until I actually manage to paint some of them.

A picture of my first pulp game(http://i414.photobucket.com/albums/pp223/gamerMac/DSC06550.jpg)
The adventure is to find the museum director. Played the game with six players. Each with a grade 3.
Nazis V Gangsters V Explorers V The Agency V Mercery V Sky Rangers.
When we ran out of time the Nazis had won.

Excellent board!

I love museum set-ups and I have to get around to building one myself one of these days (after my two Broadsword Adventures boards of course).

Do you have any close-up shots? I'd love to see how you did the doorways.

Close up of the doors.
One on the left is made fron modeling clay, silver foil and card board.
The one on the right is made from foam board and cardboard.

There are more pictures of the museum in photobucket album

I am new to this taking photos of my models. Still trying to work out the best methods. Also not too sure on how to increase the size on the web site.
My own camera is not up to the job so I had to borrow the one from work to take these photos. A bit of trial and error and I may get there! I doubt I can get to the standard of some of the photos on this site.

That's awesome Mac! Is the floor a piece of formica or countertop or something?

One of these days (after the hundred or so other projects) I'm going to build a museum.

If you are interested in doing a Pulp scenario in a bazaar, you might consider setting it in Egypt.  Then you could use a few figures from Old Glory's Chaos in Cairo line, including the civilians at the bottom of this page of Old Glory's online catalog:
