Title: Poundworld T-Rex kit! Update on Spino! 20/04/15
Post by: MalcyBogaten on January 25, 2015, 05:23:07 PM
Poundworld Dinosaur!
Comes as a bright orange pre-painted kit!

Even my humble efforts show it can be made much prettier.

Cool paint job.  I especially like the eyes.

Thank you. Wish I could say it was planned with the eyes, but it was a, "I wonder?" moment with one of those Gold Gel pens and drawing two crescents on a black eyeball.

Worked better than I expected to be honest! lol

It worked well.  It gives him a proper cold reptilian gaze I think.

Yes, those eyes look great! You could even add just a drop of gloss on them to give a wet look.

I purchased 2 more kits from Poundworld and am currently giving them the treatment.

A Spinosaurus which actually looks more like another T-rex with a sail on it's back and a Suchomimus. Which looks like a Spinosaurus without the spiny sail! o_o

I'm doing these 2 to a finish and then maybe buying them again and kit bashing a Jurassic Park Lost World Spinosaurus out of them.

I'll post the piccies when I'm happier with the paintjobs and finished.

Plus I'll give my old mate Rexxy above a bit of a tearful eye! As suggested by FramFramson.

A bit of Tamiya smoke I feel will do the job!

Thanks!

Here's the T-Rex with his eye moistened with Tamiya Smoke and his gnashers glazed.

And here's the Suchomimus (If I've spelled it correctly?"

Just hope the piccies aren't to dark!

Here are the Kit bashes I'm currently working on as mentioned earlier in the thread.

The first piccy is the original model Spinosaurus with the sail not added! As you can see it just looks like a run of the mill Carnosaur of the T-Rex family. (Unpainted and not filled)

Next. Where did the sail end up? Here! On the Suchomimus kit. Filling as you can see has commenced and I will be cleaning up when the Milliput has set.

Both kits are available from some Poundworld stores but you have to dig through the boxes and original colours may vary.

The Original Suchomimus kit wasn't this colour and I almost missed it this time around!

More when I get further.

Well it's taken a while! Oooh look a Squirrel! ;D

But I do get distracted by stuff!

The Spinosaurus! Turkish Infantry have their work cut out?

T-Rex joins the fray! (Not Marc!)

The Turks Run away! (I don't blame them!)

I still haven't finished with the Spino yet either. Just thought it was about time to show him/her?
