As the question asked....Looking for links to 'official' pictures of Imperial Navy troopers from the 40k universe.
Can anyone help?
:D

Jes Godwin did some ages and ages ago. You should've said last week and I would've brought his book, The Gothic and The Eldritch :)
cheers

Bugger!
I have only just thought to ask.
Maybe we shall have to meet up for a beer so that you can let me have a goosy...?

That's the project I'm on now :)

Thanks, Matt.
You little diamond, you.
I can start thinking about the Officers almost immediately.
:D

Thanks, Matt.
You little diamond, you.
That's one of the sweetest things anyone's ever said to me :)
It's not even Valentine's Day lol
As far as troops go, I plan to make squads of:
Indentured workers (I imagine these as slaves more or less, penal troops- boarding axes, pipes etc.)
Engineers/Voidsmen (Void suit, diving helmet looking guys- use shotguns, flamers, lascutters, phase field generators)
Armsmen (Basically the equivalent of 18th/19th century marines- autoguns, shotguns, flamers, etc. I picture them as Mordian IG more or less)
The Eisenhorn books introduce 'Naval Security' which are largely described as Arbites.
Another source of pics is the crew page in the BFG rulebook, a bunch of cyborged out crazies in that pic. I'll try to find that and put it in the folder :)

The Battlefleet Gothic rulebooks has a number of crew illustrations. But I don't know if they are available online anywhere after Specialist games got deleted from the GW page.

The solar auxilia (link) (http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/The_Horus_Heresy/Solar_Auxilia) from Forgeworld might give you a few pointers as to how armoured armsmen might look.
-
I might still have an old White Dwarf that has a load of stuff on the Imperial Navy. I seem to recall it had a breakdown of various ranks, etc.
-
An arbites style troop with boarding shields and shotguns would look awesome ;)
-
Thanks a lot, chaps.
Plenty to work with there.
:D
Dr M: Plenty to go with there.
I shall send you a much better message on Val's Day if you are feeling a little left out.
;)
Those of you that have posted links and places to go: Thank you very much!
Dewbie: Shotguns will certainly feature.
:D
James: Free Weds-Fri, I think.
Text you on Sunday/Monday to work something out.
;)
Now I need to borrow a BFG rulebook and go check out some links.... ;D

Boarding shields, vital for ship actions. Even Space Marines use them.

Very interested to have a look, but is there any way to look at pinterest without that bleedin' 'sign in' popup covering half the screen and without actually signing in?

Nope >:(
-
Go ahead sign up. It can be a bit addictive. Plus it's a great way to store ideas without filling up your hard drive.
-
The best thing about Pinterest is that it links to source pages, in the past I would save an image and have no idea where the heck it came from. Sometimes reverse image search doesn't do the trick.
I use it for all sorts of things, tonight I painted a bunch of animals and had a Pinterest folder full of foxes, skunks, raccoons, and snakes :)

Thanks for the offer, mate.
But.....
..... beer is on the cards :D
I shall have a good butchers at Bibbles Bible and see where I am going from there.
I may bug you later, though, you never know.
:D
What are you up to? ;)
You will have to wait and see, just the idea stage at the moment, but you may have the right idea already.
;)
-
Did spacefleet and the WD articles have any useful illustrations?
