Hi everyone.
I hope that it is OK with the admin team if we at Empress show off our latest 'greens' of Zulu command. These, as is the case with our entire range, are sculpted by the incrediable Paul Hicks. (There should be a drum roll in there somewhere ;) )
The first figure is of a middle aged 'tubby' Induna. Evidently this is what happens when you live on a dairy products diet.
The second figure is of a warrior from a married regiment who has donned the red coat of his latest kill and is trying out a Martini - Henry for the first time and appreciating the kick that it has.

The third figure is of a witch - doctor and the last of a younger Induna.

We hope you like our latest offerings. :)

wonderful already got all the brits sending for the zulus this weekend ..please keep them coming.

Empress, by all means please do post here to tell us about your new releases.
I assume the witchdoctor* is doing a little dance, but to my mind his pose says "Just missed the bus." :)
*iSangoma? Inyanga? I do have trouble so muddling up the various positions in the Zulu Health Service. Ospreys seem to contradict each other on the matter. They use both those names for the chap illustrated here, that does all the pre-battle wards and charms gubbins, yet the two seem to be quite separate and distinct professions in traditional Nguni culture.

Thanks for that Plynkes.
Our doctor friend is a Isangoma who is helping to purify the spirits of the warriors.
Mind you the bus option sounds fun ;)

No, it's Alan Shearer's goal-scoring celebration!
I really like these figures and for some odd reason, the "tubby middle-aged Induna" is my favourite lol
