This is a good-looking model, originally marketed as a "Dwarven Steam Mech", but it looks perfect for VSF to me:

The only downside is that it is part of a dungeon set, but the good part is that the whole set is a PDF download for only GBP 4.91 :D
The scenic stuff has very good potential for use as Khazad Dum etc in Lord Of The Rings, but would probably work in a lot of other genres, too. I'm thinking it would work very well as a VSF/Horror/Pulp cultists' lair.
At that price, I can't think of a reason to turn it down and I've just bought a set.
I still think two-legged walkers look a bit dodgy, but who cares, I can now have a whole battalion of the things for only a few quid ;)

I just wonder if it's going to fall over when a mini is placed as shown..?

I agree - you'd probably have to install some sort of ballast to keep it upright. Or glue it to a large base.
Plasticene or some sort of similar modelling clay might work.

Looks like a Telosian Tank Droid to me. Can be got for pennies off ebay if you're willing to order from the states.

Would be a good base to make the above in a more sturdy model.
