I just recently finished 13 Greek warriors for my Mythological Greece setting. They are mostly Victrix Greeks with some Wargames Factory and GW parts thrown in for flavor. Since pictures are worth more than words, here are some of the new figures.

I was also able to finish a satyr that has been sitting on my paint desk for a while.

There are more pictures of them at http://theparadeground.blogspot.com/ (http://theparadeground.blogspot.com/)
I didn't know if it was bad form to put all the pictures into the post...
C and C is always welcome. Thanks for looking.

Great stuff - is the LOTR variant you are planning on using readily available? Like the demi god conversion he looks suitably divine (pun intended).
-
Using that old beastman for Greek myth is a stroke of genius!
Simple, but you have to get the idea.
-
These minis are gorgeous! Very nice kit bashing, I'm especially fond of the first mini posted. Great building/converting/painting, great minis all around!

If you join the LOTR rule variants Yahoo group, there's a file for Greeks which includes some historical stuff and some mythological stuff. Not certain if that's what the OP is referring to, but it's definitely worth checking out!

Impressive workmanship and great eye candy. 8)

Excellent :-*

Thanks for all the kind comments. It's nice to know that my wife isn't just humoring me ;)
@Whitwort Stormbringer: yep that's the one. I like them because I have the option for a fight between rival bands or against monsters. However, Lt Hazel has put the seed into my mind of using Saga for my fights. I just need to figure out what stats to use for the monsters.
Looking back at the photos, I have gone back and brushed off the flock that is sticking to their legs. Now they don't look like they have been rolling around in the grass.

Lovely painting.

Like these. :)
-
Excellent paint job and some great ideas there - must have a look in my spares box for useful bits. I did like that hoplite with pants - just the thing for my Pontics. Was thinking WGF pants on Warlord phalangites? The trumpeter was really unusual.
-
Lovelly painting... :-* :-*
From who´s the head of the first greek please ?
-
Your models are awesome, really love the beastman.
-
Fantastic paint job on these models! :D
-
@rumacara: the head is a GW flagellant head that I got when I bought a bag of bits. I was holding onto it for the right project. I saw someone else on here use the same head but with Immortal Greeks and I realized that "Hey, I have that same bit!"

Well fellow travelers here is "The Adventurer's Guide to the Cyclops". There are many clues to look for when you and your merry band are adventuring to know if you are within a Cyclops' territory.
The first is usually located on the boarder of the territory. This is the Cyclops' way of saying "Keep Out"...

If for some reason you miss the first clue, then there is the sacrifice rock. This is more common if there is a village nearby.
Now if you think to yourself that those warnings aren't meant for me, then the next "sign" should start to raise some flags.... To the unaware this grouping of rocks might look natural, but on closer inspection they appear to be thrown for target practice.

Finally, if you walk blissfully past these signs like you are on a stroll through the country side, then there is a good chance you will see your last (and final) sign... The Cyclops!

The Cyclops was a plastic toy that was picked up at a craft store. I added some GW severed heads to his belt as future snacks. The hanging skulls were also from GW. The other bones are actually chicken bones that were boiled and cleaned. I had some fun when making the trio of rock and adding arms and legs beneath two of them. As you can see from the last picture, the Cyclops is a decent size compared to the Greek adventurer.
C and C always welcome. Thanks for looking.

Thanks again for the comments.
The Cyclops is from the Safari Toys line that is sold in the craft store Michaels. One day I was just walking around there, as one does from time to time, and saw the figure on sale for $5. I hesitate for a second and then thought about how much I would pay for the same figure if it was metal....and the rest is history. It's made out of bendable plastic, but is much stiffer that Reaper Bones plastic. With an undercoat, layers of paint, and a gloss/matte clear coat, there is almost no bending at all.
Every time I have been back to Michaels, they have been sold out of the Cyclops, but I have noticed some very nice plastic dragons there....
-
Great work, really love the Cyclops. Can't believe he's bendy plastic!
-
Hey great work. I had the same idea during a Michael's sale. lol
My effort can be seen on this thread: http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=74510.0 (http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=74510.0)
Incidentally the dragons that you mentioned make great 28mm beasts. I have a couple and some (like the ice dragon) don't even need repainting.
-
This is lovely. I enjoyed in particular the trail of clues leading to the cyclops, which is amazing incidentally for a plastic toy!
