As an absolute fan of Silbuster's Pentagram of Peril adventures, I was inspired to try something similar on my own. Quite by chance I came upon the Lemax Spooky Town hill display platform, and picked one up on Amazon for $20. You can also find them on eBay. I had already acquired the Pegasus Altar of Evil, and it turned out to be almost a perfect fit for the Lemax hill. Almost. ;)
This is very much still a work in progress, but I thought I'd post what I have so far. One advantage of the Pegasus altar is that it comes already painted, although mine will eventually be touched up a bit. As for the hill, this is how it comes:

The hill is firm (dense) molded styrofoam. I did some carving and additions with Green Stuff so that the miniatures can climb the steps without tipping and find spaces to stand, plus providing enough room for the minis to stand around the base of the Altar. Carving was a piece of cake with my trusty 4-inch serrated Victorinox paring knife. Then I put down sand with scattered stones on the flat areas. So now this is what I have so far after painting it a suitably evil black with one coat of dry-brushing:

The dimensions of the hill are 11" by 14" by 6" high.

These figures have been sitting for a while waiting for me to decide how to finish their bases. Obviously, with their new home on the hill, they'll be done in matching charcoal-grey gravel. :D
You will notice that the lower flat area is a great area to place one of Silbuster's mystic portals. I am awaiting the shipment of my Kickstarter order from Twisted Catacombs, in which I purchased five of these:

When they arrive, I'll have the makings of a great scenario, hopefully up to Silbuster's high standards, which I plan on presenting at some Conventions here in the States. Wish me luck on that!
Plus, if you have scenario ideas for using the Altar of Evil on the Hill of [insert suitable name here], please PLEASE share them!

I checked Amazon UK and they don't seem to have these great landscape pieces. Shame as they look great!

We in the States have the same problem in reverse: there are many, many European purveyors of top-notch wargaming paraphernalia, but it becomes very pricey indeed due to postage. As one of our presidents said, I feel your pain. :'(

The Dark temple of Notre Doom.
On the Altar of the Abyss lie the Keys of Hell. Victory goes to the first player to reach the Altar and cast them into the pit. The race is on. To whom will go the honour of ridding the world of so many of its woes? Let one at least succeed or the deranged defenders will celebrate their win by unleashing Hell on the world. Literally.
The entire hill has the "Terrifying" talent. Figures need to take a pluck test to move onto or across it. Failure means their legs freeze in fear and they may not move. Success means an advance of 3" on the hill at most, irrespective of their mode of transport.
