Title: Source for 1:32/54mm British moderns?
Post by: SBRPearce on 27 February 2015, 01:39:21 PM
As the title says, I'm looking for large-scale British squaddies - prefereably in plastic. I'm interested in running the movie "Dog Soldiers" as a skirmish event at an upcoming con, and, as they say, "Go big, or go home." :D

If you're happy with SLRs rather than SA80s, have you considered Call To Arms? Check out www.models2u.co.uk, they should have quite a few bits and bobs for you.

You can still pick up the old Airfix set on E Bay if you look carefully, it crops up fairly regularly.

The Airfix Helmand (http://www.airfix.com/us-en/british-forces-patrol-and-support-group-gift-set-1-48.html) stuff is 1:48. not sure if that's big enough. There are a few soldiers for it, but they may only be available as part of a set.

edit - sorry, just re-read the title and saw 54mm mentioned

1991 vintage done by Dragon/Italeri in 1/35th.  I think you might need to go to ebay for them these days but prices and not at the 'collectible' level
