I think this is the right place for it. These are Wamp Select Series Paintbrushes. They are high end brushes. Compared to Games Workshop brushes are better and with postage, cheaper. Only £1 postage in UK for these and £4 to USA, any added on brushes to the pledges do not increase the postage.
I don't think GW have as good hair in theirs, I'm sure they are not pure Kolinsky Sable, not the ones I've had in the past? Maybe only for the high end painter though, but then you need something good to start with. Anyway, if interested have a look at the Kickstarter here:

I got sent the link and am not making anything from it.
Apologies if posted in the wrong area, I did look about first.

Fixed that link for ya :

Not if they're being sent to the USA!

Mmmight possibly send a bit of money that way. My paintbrush rack is starting to look a bit ratty. Ta Elysium.
Edit: hmm. Saw the FAQ at the bottom about shipping to the US. Still a bit sceptical but fair enough.

I didn't realise the link didn't work, I should double check things like that. Unusual situation with the States, but if they say that they can do it.

You can buy Kolinsky sable in the US again. The manufacturers had to fill out new paperwork to certify the sable was not from an endangered population.
-
Now that's sensible decision. I did think it was a bit of an overboard reaction.
-
Not sure what other hurdles there were but I was just able to buy again in December as it took awhile to get them back in stock. Depending on the manufacturer of the brushes this might not be an issue for this kickstarter at all.
-
I'm never keen on brushes which don't use the size standard, 0,1,2 etc.

Outdated article with inaccurte information. There is no ban. People without the proper information spread rumor.

Well is this good enough then? ::)
Thank you for contacting Winsor & Newton.
What you have heard is correct. We have NOT discontinued the Series 7 Brushes but the US Department of Fish and Wildlife have without notice asked for new material regarding the harvesting of Sable hair and until the new information is submitted and approved by them Winsor & Newton and all other manufacturer's will no longer be importing Kolinsky Sable brushes.
The brushes are however still available in the rest of the world but it would be illegal to personally import them into the US.
Sorry for the bad news!
Regards.

"Thank you for your inquiry regarding the importation of artist brushes manufactured with Siberian weasel hair that will require clearance by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Our mission is, working with others, to conserve, protect and enhance fish, wildlife, and plants and their habitats for the continuing benefit of the American people.
Please be advised that kolinsky paint brushes are not categorically prohibited from importation. However, the importation of paint brushes manufactured with kolinskyhair of Chinese origin has been problematic for the reasons described below.
The Siberian weasel, Mustela sibirica, is listed under Appendix III of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES)...
The Chinese CITES Management Authority has confirmed that CITES documents certifying the origin of certain Siberianweasel hair shipments exported to companies in Europe were not issued by the appropriate organization and are not valid for CITES purposes. Countries receiving these shipments cannot issue valid CITES re-export certificates for artist brushes manufactured from Siberian weasel hair imported with an invalid CITES certificate, and these artist brushes cannot be lawfully imported into the United States.
We acknowledge that this situation is creating difficulties for you and other U.S. importers of Siberian weasel hair artist brushes. As a CITES member nation, however, the United States must uphold the terms of the treaty. We understand that the CITES Management Authority in China is working to ensure that shipments of Siberianweasel hair are accompanied by valid CITES documents in the future.

Until new CITES documents were issued, it was illegal to import kolinsky sable brushes from European manufacturers into the US. It sounds fairly similar to a ban, to me.
