Title: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Project
Post by: flags_of_war on March 21, 2015, 01:25:54 PM
Got these very very expensive guys so makes sense to at least make a project for them.

Ordered a load of the Crossover Ninja Minions that i will use as Foot clan. Ill also get some of the Greebo figures for Rocksteady, Beebob and Casey Jones. Not sure about their Shredder yet but i might just need to go with him.

I also have a VW Camper van that i will tart up to the Turtle Van. Just need some Guns for it  lol

Im thinking 7tv for rules but i also have Pulp city and just order Supersystem 4th Ed.

Yeah, I just bought some for myself. They are the most expensive 28mm figs I have ever bought, but they are beautifully sculpted and cast. Most accurate TMNT I have found. He claims they are a limited release and that he only had 2 sets left when I ordered. Be interesting to hear if that is the case, or if its just what he tells people to justify the price.

Yeah i thought this as well but hey the price will do enough to make them very limited anyway haha. He doesn't really advertise that he does them either for obvious reasons.

They are expensive, but perfectly cast and expertly painted they look awesome.  I always wanted to see someone paint them in a black and white scheme.

They look perfect, I really like the bases.

I heard they are already sold out, now. These minis were really cool.
I know only about two other making the turtles. Greebo (http://www.greebo-games.com/product-category/fantasy-football/single-player/tartalar-kame-senshi/) and MyWay Miniatures (http://mywayminiatures.com/catalog/creatures).

Its frustrating when you see something thats so cool, only to discover they are sold out. I saw them on the lead painters league this round as well. I guess its for the best, they are probably beyond my budget (aka how much I can get away with spending on man dollies without the wife noticing).

Ordered a load of the Crossover Ninja Minions that i will use as Foot clan. Ill also get some of the Greebo figures for Rocksteady, Beebob and Casey Jones. Not sure about their Shredder yet but i might just need to go with him.

Which Ninja did you order?

I got the OldgloryMiniatures Ninja, they could be little to small, but most are japanese, so it could be ok.

Contact the maker over FB, eventually he has one or two sets still available.

He is working on a zombie version of the turtles, which I will get if he realease them.

More great stuff. I'm ridiculously envious.

BMG would be an interesting system to try capturing the turtles with. I tried my hand at them in Fistful of Kung-Fu, but only had a chance to play one game with them. I recommend not making them all characters as they are insanely powerful (which makes sense based on how the rules work).

This is a fantastic thread flags_of_war, I only just found it.  I picked up the MyWay TMNT and the Greebo figs too over the last while, but for the time being they are sitting in a box.  This thread makes me want to reconsider my 2016 plans.

I am painting some Citadel ninja for another game at the moment, but I have gone with purple as a spot colour, with future TMNT gaming in mind.

Im looking forward to see what you get up to next?  Greebo Shredder?  Is there a better option than that model around?

He is Greebo like the Rocksteady and Bebopp figs. He is bigger than the Turtles but they are meant to be small anyway so fits well. Im just about to finish a converted Greebo Casey Jones and ive been painting April as well.

Greebo make another not-Splinter too, but its proportions are a bit different from the other models I find.  Thats the one that I got from the Greebo Indiegogo campaign, the one that you have is nicer.  The head on this one looks quite small (probably more realistic, but too realistic to fit in with the others unfortunately.

That looks ace!  :-*

Just one thing, the auto cannon barrels could do some drilling? ;) *an old 40K player habit, sorry*

I totally agree with this ;)

I would like to add that this is a really REALLY great project. I love seeing the projects that I wanted as a youngster finally made and photos of them. Great job, thanks for sharing.

I have thought about cutting the barrels down a little and put them back on with them drilled out.

Just wanted to add that "Fistful of Kung Fu" is a perfect game system for TMNT action.

So, these are very nice.  But one thing, don't the turtles only have 2 toes on each foot?

I think we're still short a few people for the group order threshold, no?  :(

If that's the case folk should get these. They are genuinely superb figures and the best i have seen for TMNT. I still have the Heroclix to paint but they do not come close to these. Ill then have another two sets when ever the IDW game comes.

Compared to the kaha ones as well?

I have the Kaha ones and really like them too. They feel a little more fragile than these newer ones and the Kaha ones are also a lot more expensive. The most expensive minis i have ever bought.

That's why I asked. I'm considering the Kaha ones but the price is offputting.

I somehow missed the last few pages of this.  That van is top notch. I also really like the pj on the Space Corsair turtles. Kind of wishing I'd joined in now!
