Just found about this game on a Dust FB page:

Nazi Germany declares war on Europe and its army is unstoppable. Prodigious beings appear on the battlefields to support the Wehrmacht's efforts: flying men shower flames upon the enemy; women wearing iron masks punch through tank armour; bloodthirsty beasts devour entire regiments. The world is about to succumb to the might of the Third Reich.
Aaron Spiegelmann, a Jewish scientist who escaped from Mauthausen concentration camp, is the Allies' only hope of stopping the Nazis. Spiegelmann is the genius who created the Wunderkammer, a new technology that allowed the Germans to create real superheroes with extraordinary powers. With his guidance, the US army launches Project H.O.P.E. in order to produce their own genetically modified humans to be deployed on the battlefields.
As WW II rages on and every army creates its own Meta-Humans and war machines, Natural Prodigies, unscrupulous Adventurers and even Warlocks' secret enclaves step into battle. From European battlefields to Pacific waters, a conflict like never before is unleashed and spreads with no boundaries: humanity will forever remember it as the first War of Wonders.
Welcome! War of Wonders Miniature Game is a fast paced 30mm strategic skirmish game based on the deeply immersive setting of Project H.O.P.E. Rpg by authors Simone Fini and Riccardo Giuliani, published by Limana Press.
In War of Wonders extraordinary human beings with powers beyond imagination fight on WW II battlefields alongside regular troops and iconic heavy tanks to change History. National heroes, monsters born in laboratories and mysterious beings with their own secret goals: every and each of them will add new tactics, game options and strategies to your games.
War of Wonders will be launched through crowdfunding on Febraury 2015. You can follow the project on this blog and discover the complex background, the fighting forces, the armies, their Meta-Humans and the story of these extraordinary beings.
What's an army without its leaders? In War of Wonders your troops will be led by Meta-Humans able to fly or move across the battlefield jumping long distances, heroes with extraordinary technological equipments or able to shoot flames from their hands, evoke lightning or haunt enemies' minds with terrifying visions to break their morale and force them to retreat. There are indeed different kinds of Meta-Humans, and each battle will be different from the other, according to the hero you choose, because each of them is more effective against certain enemies.
You will be able to choose:
Adventurers – they lack superpowers, but they undergo a special training and have advanced or even unique equipments.
Keepers – their powers come from a magical artifact they wield in battle.
Warlocks – sages and guardians of ancient knowledges, they are able to bend the laws of physic to their will with spells and rituals.
Natural Prodigies – they were born with a superpower that usually blossomed or broke out when they found themselves under attack or in heavily stressful situations.
Lab Prodigies – they underwent experiments that granted them their superpowers, or gained them in the Wunderkammern, a technology able to awaken the dormant potential of the human body.
Machine-Men – their bodies are part flesh and part iron, they have mechanical prosthesis and limbs that allow them performances beyond human capabilities.
I don't need the rules, but the miniatures will be welcome, specially the meta-humans. Here's a scale photo of one of the minis they made:
As far as I can tell, they still haven't made their KS.
-
That German doctor would be perfect in my Arnim Zola Army! :P
-
But why 30mm?
-
As far as I can tell, they still haven't made their KS
Their Facebook update as of April 2 says "Soon on Kickstarter" so presumably it didn't happen last February but will start before the next. One assumes they might've needed extra time to finish the deal with "another company" to run this on KS instead of some less popular platform.
-
But why 30mm?
Probably because calling many miniatures 28mm these days is a bit of a push. It probably would be much the same as saying heroic 28mm, obviously I haven't seen these in the flesh or against any other minis than those shown but they are both advertised as 28mm and they look to fit reasonably well so I wouldn't worry overly much.
Although I also have no experience with their last figures and they were big if I recall so maybe disregard what I just said, someone a bit more knowledge with this range could maybe weigh in.

Maybe an Italian member can go check the game out? ;)
Next weekend, the first demo table of War of Wonders will be presented at PLAY: Festival del Gioco in Modena (Italy). Come visit us at stall A38 to lead your Meta-Humans to battle!
-
some nice looking figures- it got me interested...
-
Metal figures, and they have a partner co., according to the Facebook - needed for the KS.
-
Some pictures of actual metal miniatures! :D
Brunhild (German Villain)

You should already know our Meta-Humans, we talked about them a lot on this blog and we showed you the concept arts, but today you can see them in their full glory.
Premiered at Play, the game fair in Modena on April 11-12th, these are the first miniatures that will be released with War of Wonders Kickstarter: German Lab Prodigy Brunhild (with two head choices) and US Adventurer The Flag. They're 3D printed in white metal by Greebo Miniatures for Limana.

Very Metropolis.

Maybe an Italian member can go check the game out? ;)
I was at Modena Play days ago, but I did not had the time to test it personally, but looking at the other people playing it looks fun.
http://www.limanaumanita.com/ (http://www.limanaumanita.com/) is born as RPG book company, so the game background should be solid.
Miniatures as I saw and as you can see from the blog are very nice.
I'll keep all of you updated as I know more.
Ciao
-
The minis do look nice, I don't think they'll scale badly against most of the current popular makes - judging it against the Wargames Factory GI in the pic - it's similarly proportioned, more slender than Warlord etc, but not so much as to be a problem - all in all it's looks like a project worth keeping tabs on (I'm looking forward to the German troops).

Hello everyone, glad to meet you, I'm Luca Pantanetti, Limana Umanìta press office.
I wanna reassure you that we signed all the necessary papers and agreements and our KS for War of Wonders will start very soon :)
I read your posts and I'm glad to see there's so much interest in the game. Like pws here above stated, War of Wonders is based on our Project H.O.P.E. Rpg and has an extensive background. Our blog and Facebook page will keep you updated on the game and incoming KS, but if you have any questions, I'll gladly answer here on Lead Adventure Forum :)
Here is a glimpse of Brunhild and The Flag (respectively a Nazi and US Meta-Human) battling, shot at Modena Play. Hope you enjoy it

Hello!
We're moving on, getting ready to start. We're previewing our KS campaign at https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/827575229/352886513?token=fd58fdc1
We need your feedbacks! :)
-
It would be nice to get a comparison shot between Dust minis. For some reason it's rather difficult to find any of them shown alongside either Warlord or WGF figs, at least in pic that you can really see any size differences.
-
Two days, only two days before the War of Wonders Kickstarter campaign is launched! Full story on our blog (http://goo.gl/qfOOfN). Just reach the nearest recruiting station and get ready ;)

It's doing rather well

I'd still like to see that comparison shot alongside some Dust minis :`

The Dust mini comparison shot is on the way :)

We want to say thank you to all our backers, half the KS has been funded in just 12 hours! To express our gratitude even further, we added a new Early Bird: the Shinobi pledge level. Go have a look on the KS page https://goo.gl/XOtfQi (https://goo.gl/XOtfQi)

I just noticed that you took my advice of moving the release date forward to January 2016. Given the fresh-off-the-press news about another project (see http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=64647.msg959790#msg959790) and a similar previous experience I think it was more than a prudent move. Let's hope that if your project does fund you can secure a caster that will actually deliver and not keep pushing your production back indefinitely because of more lucrative deals.
-
Well done :D
I yet knew about the miniature game, but I didn't know was done by italians (like me) ;)
I'm a pulp alley player using many weird wars leagues (my games are about interwar 1933-1939 years) so probably I could need some of their miniatures.
A question: Do they plan to do some italians too? Both Bad and Good guys? In all these weird war games there are germans (of course), americans, russians, british and maybe japanese, but never italians or french... :-[
-
Sure there will be Italians and Italy will be represented by its own Meta-Humans and special troops.
We'll start with Germany and US, and then we'll unlock Japanese, British and Soviet armies through the Kickstarter if it goes as planned ;)
We just posted the produced German troops in the Update section of the Kickstarter https://goo.gl/vCWHXx (https://goo.gl/vCWHXx)

Nice news o_o
I'm curious to see them. If I will like them I could fund the kickstarter too :-*
I could need some more italians to include in my pulp alley "LEGIO PROMETHEUS" league ;)

Lemme say thank you to all our backers! The project is now funded!

At 4 in the morning we were 55€ above :?

I am backing this. Looking forward to seeing the beta draft of the rules. :)

Great looking miniatures! :-*

We read your comments, we appreciated your feedbacks and we know you deserve more. We just added two more Meta-Humas to the basic goal. Read full story here: https://goo.gl/muR3q2 (https://goo.gl/muR3q2)

Looks like a good fit, given the Dust one is on a thicker base.

War of Wonders is based on an extensive background with hundreds of vivid characters with unique stories and powers. From incredible heroes of the past, reviving through artifacts of old in which their souls still dwell, to human beings genetically modified in war laboratories; from machine-flesh hybrids to Warlocks and Dark Mages.
A story far wider and deeper than you can imagine at first glance, and of which you're getting glimpses through this Kickstarter. A story that we wanna bring to your tables and home-made battlegrounds with our miniatures and that we'll spread through fiction, data sheets and short stories.
If you wanna go deeper into the War of Wonders universe, you should start from the new pages of our blog, describing Factions (http://goo.gl/FL5MgI (http://goo.gl/FL5MgI)) and their most relevant members and the War of Wonders important facts and chronology (http://goo.gl/he5GOi (http://goo.gl/he5GOi)).

It would be great if some more backers could flock to this. At the current pledge average, just 4 more backers could push the project past its first stretch goal. :)

Hear, hear! I really can't understand why people aren't backing this one up :\ Maybe they are waiting for SOTR II KS?
-
Could be. The only complaint I've seen about this is the pricing but then again I haven't seen much talk about this at all anywhere.
-
I just don't do KS, but I'll be picking some of these up at retail. :)
-
Hope you'd like our painted Rangers Sergeant ;)

-
The campaign needs more backesr to unlock stretch goals, so the word need to be spread. :)
To backers - commenting on the campaign in the Comments section actually helps; the ratio of comments to backers is one of the metrics Kicktraq uses for its Hotlists, which can bring in some more backers if the campaign is seen there. :)
Kicktraq chart:

Posted as this also helps with the Hotlist metrics. :)
-
The only complaint I've seen about this is the pricing
Actually, apparently 30mm isn't a scale looked upon favourably either. Pretty sure that's all of the negative criticism I've seen mentioned now.

Actually, apparently 30mm isn't a scale looked upon favourably either. Pretty sure that's all of the negative criticism I've seen mentioned now.
Maybe the choice of 30mm is unpopular. Though some backers retreated in the last days after choosing an EB at the start of the campaign, so the cause of their fall back might be elsewhere, since they knew what they were pledging for. Maybe some new KS started or is about to start (like Sotr II).
And still, we just unlocked our first stretch goal, it seems Yashamaru is on the way. Thank you all for your constant support :)
Also, we've once again listened to our backers and we're going to launch a limited special pledge today :)
-
The new pledge level is up right now :)

Maybe the choice of 30mm is unpopular
Not sure why posters felt it to be so (theories include but are not limited to "they are oversized for 28mm" and "I only game 10/15/20mm") since they just onelined it and I didn't bother asking for explanations. When peeps start with a three word statement their elaborations usually just make me more o_o
-
You've all been very supportive and we thank you so much for that. Your feedbacks helped us doing better (we like to think so!) and we still want to hear from you. That's why we intend to modify our stretch goals plan a little, by giving you the chance to choose which miniatures we'll unlock next.
We opened a poll on the War of Wonders MG Support Group on Facebook where you can vote the miniatures you'll see in the second stretch goal. You'll find it here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1438686116445671/ (https://www.facebook.com/groups/1438686116445671/)
We hope to hear from you, because there are some interesting options available:
- British Meta-Human Rose
- Japanese Crimson Dragons paratroopers
- Japanese Kami special squad
- Japanese Meta-Human Sakura, a new miniature that we'll add to this Kickstarter if she's the most voted!
The most voted option will be the next stretch goal!

Not that I really get to vote, but am not keen on the concept. Can't think of a justification for a Japanese woman -- even a meta-human -- to show that much skin in 1940's. I suppose she can stop bullets with her nips but still. That concept might just work OK for a fantasy game but not for quasi-historical one.

I think the nudity is a failure for me too. No logic to it.
-
On positive note, if I read the Facebook poll right she's not going to win the vote.
-
Thank you for your feedbacks, they're always appreciated :)
That image is from our RPG rulebook, where it made sense, because connected to a specific piece of fiction. Even though we were not sure of its impact, we eventually chose to show it to answer to the requests of backers who wanted a general idea or a sketch of the character they were voting for in the poll.
This is not the miniature concept: in War of Wonders an outfit like that would really have no sense, and we also intend to give the miniature a more dynamic pose :)
-
8 days to go, and still the possibility of further stretch goals being unlocked with more backers. :)
-
We received Yashamaru's WIP from our sculptor. Hope you enjoy it :)

He's the first Japanese Meta-Human that will be produced through War of Wonders Kickstarter (https://goo.gl/XOtfQi) (http://(https://goo.gl/XOtfQi)). And Crimson Dragons paratroopers are on the way!

Not quite sure about the spikes on his armour tho.

Seeing that folks have been mostly bailing out over the last few days, it doesn't seem like this is going to pass with flying colors -- if indeed at all. DoctorS, are you in any way confident that you can fulfill this project if it only barely meets the funding goal?
-
I confess that I'm one who left. Way too many troopers in a pledge when there's already tons of weird war 2 stuff out there with more on the way. Shame, too, because I thought there was an excellent market for WWII supers, especially if there was a partnership to do weird conversion bits with some company that did accurate pre-existing troops.
-
Looks like it has funded all the same, now it just remains to be seen by how much. Currently it looks like by not a whole lot -- which usually isn't a good sign :?
-

Thanks for the question, it gives me the chance for a quick recap of how things are going.
Some backers left, some others are arriving right now, in the last hours, their number is still around 70. Unless there's a massive retreat, we're confident we'll stay above the funding goal and we can start the production of the game.
Also, despite the funds dwindled under the 5000 €, we already chose to produce Yashamaru's miniature and we announced it will be free for Captain, Colonel and Hybrid pledge levels (you can read more here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/827575229/war-of-wonders-miniature-game-superheroes-fighting/posts/1252230 (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/827575229/war-of-wonders-miniature-game-superheroes-fighting/posts/1252230))
We have company funds to support the production of this new miniature even if we don't hit the stretch goal again. So yes, all in all, we're confident everything we promised will be produced, and War of Wonders will go even past the KS :)

I'm pretty sure that a project that's over the funding level when the last 24 hours start cannot be "un-funded" any more. KS will still take their cut I assume so the sum that such a project gets won't be the same as their funding goal but still it counts as funded.
Anyhow, best of luck with the game. Like mrgrigson, I like the idea of WWWII supers.

The Kickstarter has been funded!
Our sincerest thanks to all our backers for making it possible, for supporting the project and providing important feedbacks throughout the campaign.
Let's face it, we hoped for a better result, but we paid for our inexperience with the KS tools and did some mistakes. We were able to amend some of them on the run, others were not so easy to cope with.
Nonetheless, we'll produce the promised basic set: 4 Meta-Humans (The Flag, Firefly, Brunhild and Dr. Nachtmahr) and 2 troop squads (US Rangers and German Arisches Korps). Also, as previously announced, we'll produce the first Japanese Meta-Human Yashamaru, even if the funds dwindled under the 5.000 € required to unlock the stretch goal.
We think this is a necessary gesture of consideration and respect towards our backers, and also enough of an answer to those wondering about the future of the game now: we of course intend to produce it and widen the range of miniatures, adding the missing factions, special squads and more characters.
Thank you again for your attention, you can find our more on the game's website: http://war-of-wonders-miniature-game.webnode.it/blog/ (http://war-of-wonders-miniature-game.webnode.it/blog/)

Received my pledge today. Some of the heads (specially in the GIs) are a bit "soft" on the detail but I can say I'm happy with the final result. Hope they release more miniatures for this line in the near-future.
-
Still waiting (in the UK) but hopefully 'soon'.
-
Yeah me too. Its bollox.
-
Just a heads up should Limana ever get these to retail including their own web-store - a number of backers (including myself and Rob above, there are others) had none or only part of their pledge. They have not visited their KS page in 11 months and do not reply via the KS page, emails or the War of Wonders Facebook page.
The reason that I am posting this as Limana still seems to be in business hawking its rpgs and if they ever rear their heads here re: minis then I want to ensure caveat emptor applies.
