Title: Plain workmen in overalls?
Post by: FramFramson on March 31, 2015, 09:59:06 PM
Does anyone know of any plain workmen figures in overalls or a coverall or shirt and pants? Perhaps a mechanic with a wrench, toolkit, or oilcan?

I've made some labourers from converted Copplestone street thugs, but was thinking of maybe a couple more. I could especially use a couple of mechanics or factory workers or railroad men, since my conversions are all more hard-labour construction types (sacks and shovels).

The Mafeking range from Perry has a pack of rifle men with overalls on a couple and flat caps. Don't know if this is what you are looking for.
Good luck with the project

Ok, they ain't workmen...

BIG ZERO on the coveralls...

cutoff overalls...Check...

albeit abbreviated shirt n'pants... Check...

Saw these in the flesh...so to speak...as it were...  & grabbed a few...

Now I want 'em all, the industrious types rather than the uh, artistes, that is.

Cheescake, yeah, but hardly salacious, & not outa place inna Pulp scenario.

Pulp figures has a few working types, such as these tramp steamer sailors:

or these aircrew types:

Eureka Miniatures has these guys:

The Pulp Figures ones are quite good, but they are just a tad too specific, being obviously airmen or sailors. Some of the Mafeking fellows would be fine if they were unarmed (rifles, I can remove, but bandoliers are a pain). The Crooked Dice tech looks great, but is far too obviously postwar spy-fi to use for interwar games.

Maybe the third Eureka fellow, with a headswap?

Good suggestions though.

Brigade games do a pack of unarmed railway workers in their western section?

I must have a looksee in future to determine where, & when, we are...

Temporally I'm clearly way off base...I'm used to seeing you post in Pulp...

Please excuse my over zealous offerings...

Figures are far too obviously American, and no earlier than '40s.

Off to clean both compass AND spyglass, chronometer could do with a brush up as well

Have you considered checking in artillery crews specially ACW in shirts?
They might be usefull and easy to convert.

Thought about that. There are some WWI packs too. They have the same problem as the Brigade railroad workers though: Buying one pack to get a particular figure.

I've settled on one from the Brigade pack, but now I have to see if anyone will part with that one figure (already posted in the Bazaar).

These would seem to have more promise than my earlier effort...

Do you already have this Murch Minion?
