Title: The Evil Ponies
Post by: Bergil on 09 April 2015, 06:49:57 PM
I thought some of you might like to see 'em (ok, one or two of you) so here they are.

The question for me is what to do now? I'll spend a day or so sending out some emails, tidying up the website and what not. But what to sculpt next? I have a few ideas and good suggestions to pick from. What would you have me work on though? And please, nothing pony related!

I remember the alien-bug ponies (ponids?  lol ) from the sketches. They turned out very nice!

My little unicorns?

These are really inspired but I can understand you wish to move on, you've sculpted loads of these!

These "ponies" are masterful and strangely terrifying. I can't fathom what possessed you to make them but now that your are sculpting them i can't fathom why you would stop.

My wife greatly enjoyed painting the last batch of ponies I bought from you.

As for your next project how about some Action GI paramilitary dudes from the 80s?

Cheers matey  :)

Yeah I think so, ponids might make an interested mutation of nid type things.

I'm glad someone understands!

Well i made ponies in the first place to try and cater to people who wanted ponies in their rpg's or games. Evil ponies came about because a few of the backers of the first project had made a pony game (of which i actually made the time to play with them once) and evil adversaries seemed like a natural progression. AS to why I would stop? I need to make some stuff with wider appeal methinks. And for my sanity.

That's not to say ponies have completely left the radar, I just need a break :)

Not a bad idea, loved GI Joe as a kid. Haven't people already done this though?

There have been some home made conversions and a few companies have a couple of not- figures but nothing that really speaks to me.  I would love to have the original handful of characters and some leaders.  Like: Rock and Roll, Zap, cover girl, duke, roadblock etc.  you would be great for this.

Well thanks for thinking so highly of my abilities! Could see myself doing some at some point, maybe I'll put one together on the side and see how it goes. Thanks for the idea!

I don't know what size your ponies are. But I saw a couple of your evil ponies that at first glance looked like clockwork or steam ponies. I was disappointed when I looked closer at them on your site. Don't know if you want to make anything like that. But I know that if they are the right size to mount 28mm men on, I would be very interested in getting some. And I am sure there are several other people I know that would buy some too.

That's a distinct possibility. One of the next projects I'll be working on requires horses. So I'll make skeletons horses first, then flesh them 'em out. I could certainly do some clockwork horses down the road.
