Title: 1946 E-75 Tiger III Heavy Tank (Cromwell resin kit)
Post by: Agis on 03 October 2008, 08:40:11 PM
Hi again,

took me a while, but I finally finished a "What If?" Paper Panzer:
a 1946 E-75 Tiger III Heavy Tank (Cromwell 20mm resin kit) fully eqipped with
200-mm infra-red searchlights FG 1250 and a BIWA (Bildwandler - image converter) and the incredible 12.8cm KwK 44 L55 anti-tank gun.
I added the usual AB crewmen and a plasticard base.
Hope you like it. :smt002

Looks like the Panther F with the angular turret and built in range finder optics.  Looks great as usual.

Brian

PS
Must be a green loader because he is standing erect in the hatch where the TC is crouched down.  INCOMING! :o

Lovely piece. Could it be, though, that the AB figures are 1/72nd while the tank is more like 1/76th? Somehow, the vehicle looks a little bit "condensed".

The painting is top notch. A very nice rendition of the reddish-brown variant of Hinterhalt. Having the gun barrel uncamouflaged is a particularly nice touch.

I've played with that gun in a Jagdtiger and it is a bad mojo!  Rips through a Pershing's armor like it was paper and depending on how weird war you wanna get a Tungsten round is even better!

Just a damn proud German officer! ;)

Sharp eyes Chris! You are absolutely right, I like it however - the crewmen look a bit larger then life this way.
