Title: Buses of the World
Post by: Andym on 25 April 2015, 06:51:23 PM
Hi all.

Just thought I'd give a wee heads up. I found this in the newsagents this morning. At a fiver for this issue, it's worth it just for the model. The next issues up to £20. I'd been looking for a bus like this for ages for my wee Ruined London Board.

Looks good, but would be better with different ads on the sides.

Its only a fiver, why not print off something from your computer. You could use bits of real ads to make banners for the bus. I used bits of Crooked Dice book prints for this.....

Nothing wrong with being an Anorak! Out of interest,  this is  6 cylinder in line diesel injection AEC A204 9.6 litre Regent 3 Rt from 1939. :D

I bet you got some strange looks buying that lol lol lol

Its ok, I wore the anorak James talks about to cover myself up! ;)

Yes, because buses are so much more embarrassing than toy soldiers …

Nice find.  And if they are all to that size, there may be some useful double deckers for other eras to come.

To be fair, Andy is quite tall, well built and (dare I say it) mildly good looking  ;)

It's ok.....I hid it under a copy of 'Jugs Monthly'............this weeks has a nice pewter centrefold! ;)

Just remember the other issues are 20quid. You'd be better just ordering whatever model you want from ebay!

I see the second issue is out now. This one looks a little big. I didn't buy it. It wouldn't suit anything I'm doing.

Looks good for "Where Eagles Dare." Those idiots used a 1950s bus, but this one would be period-authentic! Just bung a snow-plough on it.  :)

That was even a Swiss Saurer model if I remember correctly. Indeed, that Mercedes would be authentic.

What they generally do with part works is to release the first few issues in a test area only.  If it sells, they then go national (starting again with the same first issue, usually).

If anyone wants aMalta bus they're quite cheap to get.
Seen near a 25mm scale model from Foundry. A bit small, but ok if you're not too fussy.
