As some of you may know, the guys at Warlord Games announced (on Salute) that they had partnered with Clockwork Goblin to make some Weird War rules and miniatures. Clockwork has already started working on it (or at least that's what I gather reading their latest post on FB) ;)
28mm US Armoured Infantry W.I,P. Just a quick shot of things to come. I am cleaning these up then painting them for some photographs to be included in a very special and exciting project.
-
They've produced some nice 28mm stuff.

Yep, their 28mm mechs are great. But armored infantry...wow. I really need that lol
-
Looking really good, Bolt Action WWW2 or SOTR2 here we come :)
-
Have their Grizzly & Spinne mechs & they're incredibly good, really looking forward to their British & German armoured infantry being scaled up to 28mm. The collaboration with Warlord could be interesting - a little cross subsidising could help him get his minis out quicker & provide a wider audience.
-
Today they posted a render of the Germans armoured infantry:

Plus a printed Russian Werebear (or at least I presume it's one):

And there's already some pictures of painted American armoured infantry:

Ok those dudes look pretty cool

Those Germans are :o

They all look very nice.
Where is the Mech in the picture from?

Looks like Clockwork Goblin. http://www.clockworkgoblinminis.co.uk/ourshop/cat_619857-War-Without-End-28mm.html

They do look rather neat. The Germans are rather Metro2033 (not a bad thing!)
MM.
-
Will certainly get the armoured Germans when released, they look great.
-
They've released some images of the renders for the Brit heavy infantry & they look great. While I don't dislike the WW British Steel models these are much more characterful, the armour cruder - (& less S***e M****e) more suited to something that might have been produced in the 40's.
-
The Brits are my favourites in this lot so far. The rest are more predictable, except for the werebear maybe but that's because it's unexpectedly silly.
Not sure if I completely buy into the "regular infantryman head sticking out of the powered armour suit" concept tho but that looks to be the genre standard.

I have to agree! Brits are great!!! 8)
The others are good too, but - honestly - how many more weird war US/ Sov /German Powerarmours do we need?
(Incursion, SWTOR, Project X, Dreamforge, DUST etc etc) ;) ;)
-
Clockwork Goblin seem to be on something of a roll of late - their newest preview is of their 28mm US Goblin light mech, upsized & significantly tweaked from the 15mm version, it's gorgeous, I may have to consider starting a US force for Secrets... just to get some.
-
I too really like the Brit Heavy Infantry figs, plus also their Brit "Automated Infantry"

I have a historical WW2 Brit Para force which I'm planning on "weirding up" by adding a few of these units to it. Probably a mech or two as well.

And then this appeared on Amazon ;)

WOW!
There will be something similar for the germans too?
-
The Germans have a light mech, the Spinne & have a heavier one on the way.
-
Just saw these painted German Werewolves in a Bolt Action group on FB ;)

I really like their style. It reminds me of the Incursion ones.
-
I love SOTR and the miniatures but as I now have some funds that I won't be using (at least any time soon) I think Clockwork Goblin might get an order when we see some of these German minis/mechs turn up on their site.
-
Love the werewolves sculpts, but do you prefer your weres with sculpted hairy hides, or do you prefer them mostly bare skin, with some hair like these (previously my benchmark for weird war lycanthropes was the Darkson Designs AEWWII offering, which is a decidedly hairy sculpt)?

I prefer the werewolves with hair. I would love to see figures like these one from D&D

Fantastic stuff
-
The D&D one is nice, but isn't it a bit big? Heresy do a nice one & there's the ubiquitous Reaper Bones one, but I'm hard pressed to point to any others that aren't a bit 'meh' - which is why its so nice to see the CG ones.
Anyway, this has been my previous favorite, the AEWWII one.
-
That AEWWII werewolf looks like the ones from "Dog Soldiers" :o As for the D&D one, I could never found one at a good price, so I'm not sure about its size :\.
-
The Brits are top notch!!!

Oh no !....am on the precipice...have been looking at their stuff for a year now but if they're really gonna take the plunge with a full 28mm range then I fear for my wallet....imagination going overboard looking at those new armoured infantry renders...and that U.S. mech !....think I might have to lay down for a bit
