hey guys,
a new topic based upon the winter clothes for the troops engage in the Franco-indian war but could work with Mountainmen/Couriers des Bois too
o_o
My first one is based on a ex HLBS figurine, now sold by Tiger Miniatures.
(For detail see this article (http://chti-reanimator59.blogspot.fr/2015/04/le-re-animator-se-met-table.html) from my blog)
the figurine of this simple conversion is a empty handed one, so i only have to add a Redoubt musket and a homemade tomahawk.
enjoy

i thin i saw it a long time ago......
-
Looks great. I have 5 Conquest Minis Indians in winter clothes, but honestly, don't know what to do with them. I don't have enough for a game....

i think so.
there is not scale on the website. Or 90mm ?
-
Yes, I have always found his site intimidating with the scale lacking mention. Mind you, I did get his African Riverboat when my sister was previously teaching there. I neglected to visit his office/sales room/factory when I visited HK a couple of years ago.
-
you made a big mistake then lol lol lol lol
It's look very impressive
-
I think the scale is 1:30 for John Jenkins figures.
The only 28mm items on the website at present are some nice river boats and canoes for Africa although.
The 28mm figures section only says "coming soon" but it does not say what is coming.
-
You´re right Black Burt. 1:30 or 1:32.
But very inspiring for the theme.
You´re welcome my friend. ;)
-
they are not cheap figurines for 1/32 scale...
-
Nope, and neither i would buy them but the images are really inspiring for transformations and even painting guides. :D
-
oh yes but my goal is only for a few scenarios in snow...... lol not a heavy project to deal with..... ;D
too many projects and so little time...sniff
-
and here we are !
The first figurines are on the field of..............snow
;D

Start some test for basing snow weather.
-
They look nice Eric. :-*
-
Thank you Rui.
More details on my blog (http://chti-reanimator59.blogspot.fr/2015/05/winter-is-coming-ou-presque.html), as usual ;)

and some new additions ti the Project :D
Some sled dogs, one hunter/soldier and 2 indians, all in snow wear, of course.

-
These are really nice!
-
thank you Morrigan.
The first one is a Tiger Miniatures with a redoubt musket (the gun side only) drilled into his left hand.
The 2 indians are Foundry Black feet. The first received a Conquest Tomawahk .
The dogs are from the Bear den Miniatures (a good manufacturer but has suddenly disappear from the business) from the Eskimo range. If any one has news from their ranges ? Where are they ?
Cheers
Eric

Well done mon ami. :-* :-*
Looking very nice.

You're collecting quite a few poses for your winter scenario. I can't wait to see what you cook up for it.

lol

i'm back with the painting ones, this time.
no more conversions at this moment, but i'll do my best to add more snow fighters in a near future :D
Let's go with the mountainman/coureurs des bois :

Nice ones. :-* :-*
-
Am loving this, would like to have a go at a winter scenario myself but most of my FIW figures are in summer (un)dress
-
hey guys,
thank you for your comments.
the best to suit the winter is to add some "snow" on your base like cooton wool or padding for anorak.
i use "Christmas" carpet for the ground and that's could be a solution to mask your "summer" basing.
the advantage with the rules of "song of Drums and tomahawks" is that you need only few figs so i can use some specials ones for winter scenario....that's don't burn out my Credit Card.....
cheers

Knuckleduster has some indians in winter attire. http://knuckleduster.com/shop/index.php?route=product/product&path=1_21_32&product_id=246

hey guy,
A small update to tell you that i'll post in a few days a battle report for my "Snow Patrol Project" with the excellent rules "Song of Drums and Tomahawks".
To wait this AAR, i drop you some lines and pics of the scenario :
" It's very cold outside, the temperature is falling down, snow and strong wind are coming. Catch by surprise with that so bad weather, the frontiermen's patrol need to find a good place to spend the night or die in the wilderness...."
the table with in the background, the Huron hunters' camp that could be the solution for the Frontiermen. ;)
The Frontiermen start to raid the huron's camp before the night fall. >:(
Now you have to wait some days to get the full story !
:'(
cheers
Eric

That is one nice, snowy table! I love it. By the way, you may have pulled me kicking and screaming into doing something similar. I ordered those Knuckleduster winter apparel Indians. And I even found another Indian with snow shoes in my miscellaneous bag.
Can't wait to read the report!

Magnifique, Eric! Great job on your scenario design. You can feel the desperation of the frontiersmen as the weather closes in. Sounds like a fun game. I'll link it to my web page soon...

Thank you Mike.
The terrain is very easy to display : A simple Christmas mat with some polystyrene under to featuring hills.... ;)
may be, i'll add a second scenario to follow carry on the story.
