Not really about minis, but most of us being Star Wars fans, so let`s take a look at the good old days of film making and creating models and scenery by hand/from scratch! Enjoy! :-*

Great looking models.

That... is very cool. Can you imagine the work required to make that Death Star construction model? I know it's a lot of work to make good CGI but this is just beautiful. All that work from scratch and innovative kit bashing to make things that just felt real. So to speak.
Also the retro style analogue controls on the speeder bike are fun. Almost "diesel punk" ;)

Thanks for sharing that, could look at those star destroyer and Death Star close ups all day! 8)

Ah yes; great stuff; there is still no CCG that can replicate the look and feel of actual models. 8) So I'm happy to hear that in the new trilogy, there will be a lot of practical effects and models again.
I have done a lot searching on the practical effects and models before, but there are still a couple of new pictures in there. I especially like the pictures of the under construction Under Construction Death Star; hadn't seen those before...
And when you linkidyclick on the items at the bottom, you get a look at some of the awesome Ralph McQuarry concept art. I was lucky enough to get hold of the three seperate portfolio's of these artworks dirtcheap back in the late eighties or early nineties, with large size reproductions of these works.
I'm still planning on framing a choice few of them and hang them in my mancave gameroom. :)
