Hey guys,
This is specifically for the guys wanting the M41, but can spill over into the rmoderns..
What decals are needed for Cold War era models? I'm drawing the sets for the M41 this week and have a good start:

But I'm sure I'll need more variety. Do you guys want NATO? IDF? Syrian?
I'm going to get three sets of the M41 completed, but I can also do a couple of generic sets as well that should work on most of our new stuff. I need sets to cover these released models: BTR-40, BTR-152, M41, Eland 60, Eland 90, BTR-50...and whatever is needed for models from the manufacturers.

The obvious mass-user of the M41 was South Vietnam.
For the U.S. I would like 1st Squadron-1st Cavalry Regiment/1st Armoured Div and extra U.S. 'art' by the time I come to get mine if you're looking at individual units. Cheeky I know, but if you don't ask... ;)
On the plus side the same unit markings work for the elements of 1st Armoured who were sent to Vietnam... just not with the M41.
For the Soviet kit; Cuban, Angolan and Mozambiquan.
For the Elands; Rhodesian, Portuguese, Zairean.

^ Agreed and endorsed. I'd for sure buy 1st Cav/1st Armored decals.
-
For the Soviet kit some generic Soviet style three digit numbers, ideally enough to create at least a three vehicle sequence. You know, 251, 252, 253 etc.
For my M-41 this:
-
ok, so it looks like I need this:
US 1rst cav sheet (any refs? I have a few but I can't tell if the shield is orange or yellow)
Other Set (west german, Brazil, Israeli, etc)
Arab/Syrian set
Soviet set
Anything else?
-
It's orange-yellow ('dragoon yellow'). lol
Unfortunately that is all I know... I'm not even sure whether the 'dragon' or the 'blackhawk' badge is the right one for the Late '50s/Early '60s. Just that 1/1st Cavalry has been the Cavalry Squadron for 1st Armoured Division since 1962.
As there is a M41 sat outside 1st Div's Gates at Baumholder, I presume it's theirs. They had changed to M48's in their three troops by the Vietnam War though.

Guys, this *might* help, but you probs already saw this:http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/agency/army/1-1cav.htm
They call the Dragoon Yellow Color "Tenne", I can't tell when they switched from the Blackhawk to the Dragon but both are pictured at that link.

Ok, how about these two sets for the M41 to start? Should I add anything else?

Those look great! I'd probably get 2 of each. :)
I can't think of anything to add at the moment.
-
They look great... but I would think most use will be in Vietnam games, so South Vietnamese markings are surely a must? :)
I don't know which ARVN units deployed them, but somebody here must know surely?
-
Ah, south Vietnam. Good call, I'll add then as it's own set.

They look very nice.
-
I'd have to second generic USSR vehicle decals - guards icon, 3 digit numbers, or just generic numbers to make whatever you need
Any chance of ultra-modern HUMVEE/MRAP decals?
-
We do have a Humvee in our model model lineup. If you chime in on what you would like, I can add it to the que, since I need to do them anyway.
