As we seem to be on a roll with VSF postings I thought I'd update you with my latest VSF offerings. The 28mm collection is coming along at a pinfully slow pace but I'm getting there! Anyway, I hope you enjoy the gallery:

For some reason the thumbnail of the Grenadier Guards has managed to mix itself in with the Prussians, Misplaced miniatures can be a bit inflexible sometimes.

Brilliant stuff! Your painting is something to be envied!
Who makes the Prussian chap with the mutton-chops?
-
Many thanks.
Mutton chops is from Warrior Miniatures and is listed on their England Invaded range under EIP6:

Very nice Thunderchicken, nice paintjobs!
-
nice, nice nice!!!!
I don't want to play against you, though: your armour is much too nice to blast to pieces... lol

Grenadier Guards look PARTICULARLY FINE !
I resisted buying 'em before, but your photos substantially weaken my resolve.
-
Deligthful, I especially like The Valiant armoured ram. :)
Looking forward to forming the thin red line next to these chaps to repel those wretched foreigners. ;)
By the way whats a "pinfully slow pace"? lol
-
Great stuff Neil
It looks like we will have som enice forces to play with for our next game.
-
Thanks chaps! Too kind, too kind.
I've just noticed some pictures have disappeared from the gallery so I'll update it tomorrow.

It's like pain but with lots of pins. :)
-
And there was me thinking they all had very limp wrists and you had had the pin vice and florists wire to correct them.
(can you use had had?)
Very nice guards. I ummed and argghed over them at Derby recently but didn't buckle in the end. They look spot on and remind me of the Timpo ones I had as a kid but for some reason I want the busby's to be much rougher - would that be another regiment/period/figment of my imagination?
Again, cracking stuff.
-
Reet purdy. Nice job Sir.
-
Simply beautiful!
-
again very nice thunderchicken.
I like very much the minis name Prussian marines.
if you want some more variety in your army, you may use some jagers paint them in dark blue uniform and name them as "marines". The actual prussian marine infantry / seebatallions did wear a similar uniform. [as VSF you may also use other colour schemes to suit your purposes]

Hi chaps,
Thanks for the kind words. I've updated the gallery and added the images that were missing. You'll find them at the bottom of the page.

Excellent work TC.
Since you seem to have both the Renegade Germans and Ironclad Home Service British, how do they compare in size?

Thanks for the comments.
The figures mix well with similar height and proportions. I'll see if I can find a comparison pic for you.

Man those are sweet. Love the British troops. Just wondering what colors you used to paint the red, it really catches the eye. Keep up the good work and keep posting more pics.

Thunderchicken, these are fantastic. Can you tell me more about the constabulary figs? I don't recognize them.

Thanks Justin.
I have to admit the red is a bit bright but I like it. I used Vallejo paint for these chaps: undercoat in Hull Red, drybrush with Flat Red and highlight with Scarlet.

Hi Chairface. The Bobbies are from Wessex Miniatures. I got them from Brigade Games in the UK:

Skrapwelder, as promised here's the Ironclad/Renegade comparison pic for you. As I said they compare quite well, especially when you're standing three feet away!

Thanks TC. You've sold me.
-
No problem. Are you going to paint them up in traditional Home Service colours?
-
Hehehe! Those Bobbies from Wessex games were my first commercial sculps. :)
Great paint work on all the figures. I happen to be a big fan of the Ironclad figures, especially the Steam Tanks! Wonderful stuff!! :-*

Thanks Bill,
The Wessex Bobbies are great, there's not many Victorian Bobbies armed with shotguns on the market!

That's the plan. British Home service and Ottoman Turks from Perry Egyptians are the two VSF projects on my short list. We'll see which gets started first.
