Title: Overlord is a A-grade terrain maker!
Post by: Hammers on 15 October 2008, 12:01:42 AM
Did I state this previously? No? Well, I meant to, That whole underneath the arches business looks... well, quite the business. Wanted to have it said, for the same reasons as previously stated about lagging in the area of fellow members doing great things.

Yes, I have to also agree. It is agreed, then: Overlord is a grade A terrain dude. And Ive seen some pretty amazing terrain making in my day.

I used to work at Aardman animations, on the film Chicken Run. I used to routinely go to the sets storage to oggle at the fantastic models. All ruined farm yards and spooky victorian buildings. They used to take polaroid shots of the sets so that If they needed to recreate a set they knew exactly where all the props went. Anyway, I found a polaroid of the tools at the back of a shed. Imagine this, fanatically realistic models of tools in an amazing setting, taken with a polaroid. The thing with polaroid photos is they look a bit odd, something happens to the light, Im not sure what, but polaroids have a "look" of their own. To my delight this simply reinforced the effect of the models, making it look like a polaroid photo of some REAL tools!

So there you go Overlord, if you can get some images taken on a polaroid camera you will have some very, nay spookily, realistic images...
