Title: The Battle for Novo Archangel 'sk : August 1941
Post by: matiec on 28 May 2015, 12:53:28 PM
The fourth of our Uman Kessel campaign.... Sees the Russians attempt to break out, The 4th Mechanized Corps under A A  Vlasov against the 9th Panzers under the command of Ritter von hubicki. A few photos here but the full details are on my blog....if I could find an easier way of copying it across I would ?

A tight run thing we gave a minor victory in the end to the Russians who al but broke through on their right flank. Historically the battle lasted for several days and the Germans were able to bring up more troops effectively sealing the pocket for good.

Nice storyline and nicely photographed. Interested to know how the KV-1's fell?

Thanks for looking. Have found with some experience with German 1941 army the only way to stop a KV 1 is to concentrate significant firepower especially on the flank where its excellent armour save is reduced in Blitzkrieg rules. Otherwise they are almost indestructible to Pz3' and 4's. We  should be playing the final Pervomaysk Bridge battle this weekend.
